As a man and footballer, Burnley will never see his like again
He was a wonderful footballer, who could play anywhere. We embraced him, but he embraced us.
Beyond any other player, he was my school boy hero. He played the game in the right way snd away from the football pitch he was so approachable.
Very sad day.
Sincere condolences to his family.

Thanks for the memories Peter (apart from the League Cup Semi Final replay against Swindon Town played at West Brom's ground). A true Claret's legend.
R.I.P. Peter.

It's always sad to see ex players pass away, but I'm genuinely saddened by Peter Noble's passing. I remember him playing in the late 70's, and was always star struck when I saw him on the market. RIP Uwe

Sad sad news. I've read all the posts so far and they mirror my feelings exactly. I'm lucky to have seen Peter play for our great club and thankful for that. My son asked me who he was like, said I would have to think about that one. Saw Peter in the Thorntons before a game a couple of years ago and he was looking good and gave me a nod and smile. Didn't he used to sing karaoke in Churchill pub back in the day?

A player you could never miss on the pitch what with his flowing hair, and boundless energy.

Gutted isn't strong enough for me. He was my hero because not only was he a class act as a player but because he was so committed to Burnley. That's what made him a great captain for Burnley. Number one on my team sheet every time.

Swindon fan here. I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Peter Noble. We don't have many legends at Swindon but he was definitely one of them. Fantastic goals including that 1969 semi final replay winner against you that I still remember as a kid, and a comb-over that put Bobby Charlton to shame. I know he was much loved by supporters of both clubs. RIP Peter.
