Summer transfer rumours.
Can we start the thread now?
1 Jota from Brentford (Sun on Sunday)

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Interesting timing. Extra few million in the signing on fee for sending them lot down today.
He'd be a cracking signing, by the way.

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Jota would be a major concern - didn't Brentford have to let him go back to Spain for a year because he was homesick?

One to look at, they've been an excellent feeder club.

Barton was a major concern for a lot of people.
Dyche would sort him.

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
I see where you're coming from (though I can't say I know about this particular case). I seem to remember Jesus Navas had serious problems with homesickness when he was at Sevilla. It stopped him playing internationally for Spain and meant he couldn't go on training camps and pre-season tours. However he obviously managed to overcome it somehow. You'd hope a player like Jota would be given the necessary support to deal with these issues if such a signing took place.ClaretTony wrote:Jota would be a major concern - didn't Brentford have to let him go back to Spain for a year because he was homesick?

His injury may have been a contributing factor to that.

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Jota is a quality player. His record since returning to Brentford has been unbelievable.
Hopefully he can become a hero before signing by sending Rovers down today. He can consider this game his audition.

Anyone think that Stephens only wants to play in Premier League for a club that came up as Champions?CoolClaret wrote:Dale Stephens still hasn't signed a new contract....

Is this going to be a 'make up a rumour' thread and pass it off as a done deal.taffy wrote:Stephens ( Brighton ) Taylor ( Leeds Utd ) Bartley ( Swansea ) all done deals

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Lansbury anyone ????
Re: Summer transfer rumours.
These threads would be OK if they were only filled with genuine rumours. There's enough nonsense in the printed rumours without adding all the other nonsense.
Can't we keep one rumours thread on which rumours must come from a link to a 'reputable' source, otherwise the posts are deleted? I use that term loosely but I'd even class The Sun as more reputable than the likes of the transfer rumours site.

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Despite my Andrew Driver mention, I agree. Perhaps we could have a thread with only rumours containing links or photos to articles. That would be better.DCWat wrote:These threads would be OK if they were only filled with genuine rumours. There's enough nonsense in the printed rumours without adding all the other nonsense.

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
I suspect we will only be signing defenders who, like Tarkowski, are willing to `bide their time`. Lowton is absoutely fine, Mee `Mr Burnley` for me (HOPE he doesn`t go anywhere) and Ward not far off player of the season. Probably someone like the chap at Barnsley and another Flanagan type who can cover both fullback positions.
I HONESTLY can`t see Defour being here so a replacement + Stephens (possibly another in the likelihood Marney can`t get back to his best).
Don`t see a winger at all. A striker in the mould of a Rodriguez a possibility.
I`m going for 6 signings to supplement the first team squad.

Weren't we tenuously linked with him earlier this season? He'd be a good signing in my opinion.Maple Leafs wrote:Toronto FC player Sebastian Giovinco this fellow will get the goals for us,

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Or why dont you just not read them and ignore them. It is a messageboard and sometimes people do hear things from those close to the club. I have a friend who knows Brendan Flood and he is constantly telling him things. Dont know if he is still in the know but seems near the truth most times.DCWat wrote:These threads would be OK if they were only filled with genuine rumours. Re: Summer transfer rumours.
That's why I quoted the source - Sun on Sunday - and then you can put as much weight on it as you want.
Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Taylor refused to play for Leeds today, make of that what you will
Re: Summer transfer rumours.
According to radio Leeds Taylor was told by his agent not to play , isn't that what tarkowski did to Brentford
Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Much speculation will follow. Good Championship players should be cheaper than overpaid prem players. Andrew Robertson would be very useful, mind you! Wonder if we may need a Keeper? Hope not.
Llorente might be useful too!

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Taylor is out of contract at Leeds so they cant stop him leaving, Tark was under contract so Brentford had a hold on him.taffy wrote:According to radio Leeds Taylor was told by his agent not to play , isn't that what tarkowski did to Brentford

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Sebastian Giovinco is the second most highest paid player in MLS, only behind Kaka. That's more than Pirlo. Seven million dollars a season.Maple Leafs wrote:Toronto FC player Sebastian Giovinco this fellow will get the goals for us,

Top quality player, id bet hes on over £100k a week in the MLS. Players of his quality/age only go to leagues like the MLS for one thing.Maple Leafs wrote:Toronto FC player Sebastian Giovinco this fellow will get the goals for us,

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
He's at Bayer Leverkusen ffs, how much do they pay their top earners?
Re: Summer transfer rumours.
£70k-£80k a week I reckon. His next club will pay him more than that - probably six figure weekly salary.

Re: Summer transfer rumours.
Wonder if the venkys are still after Ronaldhino and Beckham ?
Re: Summer transfer rumours.
If that's the case and if the club would be willing to find the first £50k then I would be happy to make up the rest out of my own pocket.taio wrote:£70k-£80k a week I reckon. His next club will pay him more than that - probably six figure weekly salary.
Re: Summer transfer rumours.
How very generous of you. We'd just be left with the problem of having absolutely no chance of signing him wages aside.Diesel wrote:If that's the case and if the club would be willing to find the first £50k then I would be happy to make up the rest out of my own pocket.
