With Walker possibly looking to move in the summer Trippier has a real chance at that first team spot next summer.
Re: Trippier is supposedly earning £35k per week
He takes home more than that with add-ons FACT

That's if he hits his add-ons/bonuses, but what about after Taxes?
Re: Trippier is supposedly earning £35k per week
Damn those taxes!
Re: Trippier is supposedly earning £35k per week
I'm more surprised to see Eric Dier on 70000 tbh although I do rate him as a decent player, that's a hell of a wage for a 22 year old. Especially when you compare him to other players in the squad like Ali and Kane. Son seems to be on mega money too.

Have these salaries come off Football Manager or something?

Good lad, I do not begrudge him his windfall he deserves every penny, Spurs are a big club Champions League football for him next year and possible title winners if they could get there act together earlier on. Say he is worth more with the amount of ground he covers and his crossing capabilities.

Moussa Sissoko total payments over 5 years = £24.7 million

Re: Trippier is supposedly earning £35k per week
When he signed for Spurs we got £3.5m and Keiran trousered close to £6m, cheers Tripps!

If Rooney is on a reported £300,000 a week, I would say trips is seriously underpaid

Re: Trippier is supposedly earning £35k per week
No, I think he got less, a lot less too because he isn't worth £6 million in signing on fees, based on his transfer fee of £3.5 million and £35k a week wages.
If he cost 5-6 times that transfer fee it would sound just about plausible, but even that's stretching it.
He was signed as a back up in the short term and no offence to the lad but he simply isn't worth that much in signing on fees, because he isn't that good of a player to warrant that amount of money.

Re: Trippier is supposedly earning £35k per week
That would stand Spurs at £9.5m, sounds about right to me, remember that greedy, I mean Keiran had been engineering this deal for 18 months.

Re: Trippier is supposedly earning £35k per week
Still doesn't mean he was worth £6million in signing on fee.
Plus it was Levy, who's notorious for getting the best deals for Spurs.
He wouldn't be bent over by Trippier's agent, not when he had Walker as first choice.

I know its a lot to ask for, but unless its something pushin's neighbour told you or you've something else I'm not inclined to believe it.

If you're happy to believe it, then fair enough.
I personally think its rubbish and I wont be the only one, especially as he signed for them during the old TV deal era, not the new one.

Re: Trippier is supposedly earning £35k per week
I don't know the bloke personally.
I'm just disputing a £6 million signing on fee for a 2nd choice full back signed from a relegated team who only cost them £3.5million when their chairman is notorious for getting the best deal for his club, plus how in demand was Trippier if we got such a low fee?
Factor it all in and someone has got it wrong in what they're saying.
Using those maths we paid Defour about £15million in signing on fees and more to Hendrick.

Re: Trippier is supposedly earning £35k per week
We got such a low fee because Greedier had it written in to his contract, therefore ensuring he got a massive signing on fee....£6m.

He'd have got a better signing on fee than whatever he got if he hadn't signed his last contract with us.

There wasn't a queue of clubs trying to sign him though and he wanted them more then they needed him at a guess, because they also had Yedlin as a spare right back at the time.
Sorry, but I don't believe your claims because it doesn't make financial sense for Spurs to overpay for someone like Trippier.

Best bit of business spurs have done. The competition for Rb at Spurs has made walker ten times the player he was before Trips arrived.
And at that salary he's not far off our budget too.

I've no idea if Spurs feel they've overpaid for Trips.
I can imagine there is a relationship between the transfer fee paid for a player and the signing on fee, as well as the wages and the rest of the deal. Just as there was a relationship between Kieran Trippier signing an new contract with Burnley, while Danny Ings said "no thanks."
KT's new Burnley contract was £X per week (it doesn't matter what £X is) with an transfer fee of £3.5 million (or so we understand). KT has opportunity to move to Spurs and probably some other clubs. Spurs and other clubs know the transfer fee. Which club does KT chose? I'd expect the one the offers the best package for him, which would include the signing on fee in addition to weekly wages.
DI took a different route. His fee was determined by tribunal. What was DI's signing fee to Lpool?
DI got injured pretty soon after joining Lpool. It may be that KT (and his agent) negotiated, firstly, his contract with Burnley and then his contract with Spurs to his advantage. Signing KT for £9.5 million and £35k per week seems quite reasonable given the new TV deal. Maybe timing is a little off, or maybe Spurs (and other clubs) had the ability to see which way the new TV deal was going well before it started. Looking at the Premier League table tonight, with Spurs in 2nd (and they were there or thereabouts behind Leicester last season) it doesn't look like they've done to badly.

Re: Trippier is supposedly earning £35k per week
Walker wants more money and City are offering to double his alleged £70k a week wages.
We all know how this is going to end, especially now that City have confirmed Zabaleta is leaving this summer, to join West Ham I believe.
Plus Sagna is knocking on a bit and will also be off.
City are shipping out a lot of their first team squad this summer, about a dozen I reckon.

However, if Walker goes Spurs will be looking for a new 1st choice right back.
