Re: Bamford's Goal
Long celebration for a team that was still 2-1 down.

Expect there were tears of joy in the car park after the game.

A bit of Vivaldi for the goal music, perhaps?

Re: Bamford's Goal
I for one would like to congratulate him on surpassing Jukes Premier League goal scoring record.
God we've signed some awful strikers over the last three seasons

Re: Bamford's Goal
I don't think he even jumped. He said he had mixed emotions with the result (I wouldn't have thought they should be mixed when his team lost) but said the goal meant even more than he showed with his celebration.Steve1956 wrote:He Knew absolutely nothing about it. Think that showed in his celebrations - by himself
First goal in 700+ days wasn't it?
Can understand his relief but was a little OTT considering it was a consolation goal in a meaningless game for them

Re: Bamford's Goal
He's got one more Premier League game left then it's Championship and League One after that
Re: Bamford's Goal
Some bitter weird comments on this topic about a former player who did absolutely nothing wrong just wasn't given a chance. I for one, wish him well.

Re: Bamford's Goal
his celibration was out of context with the teams fortunes, you'd think he'd just netted the winner in a world cup final.
Seemed a bit of a personal crusade thing with him , as mentioned above, it was a nothing game to be involved with.

Re: Bamford's Goal
He could turn out to be a good player for them again in the championship.
Him and Gestede could get them promoted.
What Bamford probably needs is a very good season at Boro and if promoted to be a first choice for them in the PL, then people will really see what he's made of.
He could just be a championship level striker, but no one really knows yet.
Wasn't a good fit for us, nor Palace or maybe Norwich.
Boro is the only place he's done the business when played for a full season.

Re: Bamford's Goal
I think Boro's recruitment has been spot on.They should be challenging for promotion, and Bamford has scored goals at that level.

One weird fella that guy,he celebrated the goal all on his own no one came near him,the celebration was a tad embarrasing.ClaretTony wrote:I don't think he even jumped. Re: Bamford's Goal
I was quite impressed with his performance when he came on against Chelsea last week.Blackrod wrote:Not a team player.
He replaced Adama (Traore) who was on the right wing and it was from here that Chelsea looked especially dangerous as Alonso had the run of that wing. Bamford had clearly been told to put a stop to this and he did. Not only that but he offered more movement up front then Negredo had all game.
