How often are these stories going to be rehashed? He's 22 now, and this story gets dragged up all the time. Such lazy, lazy journalism for cretins and clicks.

The Sun in December: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football ... uese-side/

ESPN in 2014: http://www.espn.co.uk/football/blog/nam ... 2/headline

WAATP in 2012: http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/internat ... -u20s.html

2011: http://wordpress.hotpress.com/robsmith/ ... -big-time/

2010: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 707665.stm

They might as well just publish a story every frigging day, all signed off with 'bet that makes you feel old'.

Just shite.

My favourite world cup. No England so no stress. Had just finished my first year at university but we stayed on for a couple of weeks. Nothing to do all day but drink beer and watch football.

Italia '90 was my favourite ever world cup - as a 13 year old, I skived off school and watched every single televised game of that tournament.

For alcohol involvement, it would have to be France '98 as I was just finishing my 2nd year at Uni and we had constant all dayers watching game after game. Having said that, I missed the bloody final because I was stuck on a National Express coach from Huddersfield to Milton Keynes!

How strange.

A World Cup barely exists if England aren't there.

The only thing that I remember from that World Cup is a boiling hot Jack Charlton having a right old rant at someone.

Mad dogs and Englishmen out in the midday sun.

He wanted all the other Englishmen (those playing in Green) to be allowed to have a drink.

She had more shots at goal at that World Cup than any Englishman.
