Palazzo in Burnley
I'm going to the Palazzo soon for a friend's birthday.
Never been before, just wondered what people who have been before thought of it?

It's excellent if you like Italian! A very beautiful old bank, very classy. Peno, the owner, also has The Villa in Clitheroe. I'd be very surprised if you didn't enjoy it!

Re: Palazzo in Burnley
Only been the once. Ten of us went last May to celebrate the promotion.
I'd heard the service could be slow and it was to an extent although we weren't too concerned about that. The food though was excellent and what they've done with the building is terrific.

Lovely place and some friends think it's the best thing since sliced bread.
I just thought the menu was a bit basic.

Great venue, poor service and average food.
On the other hand Aldo's offers you fantastic food, great (quirky) service but the venue isn't great.
Aldo's for me.

Never had a bad meal there. Everything freshly cooked and some decent beer.

Re: Palazzo in Burnley
I'm going to The Villa in Clitheroe on Saturday, sounds like it should be good!
Re: Palazzo in Burnley
Great venue, great pizzas (not eaten anything else off the menu). Usually an ale on tap too. 100% would go again.

Yes, The Villa is excellent. Enjoy.SammyBoy wrote:I'm going to The Villa in Clitheroe on Saturday, sounds like it should be good!
PS - if the weather is nice try a drink out the back on the patio before you eat.

That's another restuarant My company did all the seating for ,as well as the new gawthorpe changing rooms it's great being a claret at the moment business wise and football wise .
Re: Palazzo in Burnley
Building is beautiful
Food is average and over priced for its quality
Service was terrible on the times I went
Not been for a year so may have improved - I ain't risking it though as many better restaurants to go to locally.

Great place both the building itself, which has retained all the original features, and the food. I've never had an issue with service but tend to go at lunchtime when its not so busy.

Re: Palazzo in Burnley
Went the week after it opened, it was relatively quiet and the service was painfully slow.
Didn't rate the food at all, went for the tapas style stuff - really wasn't good.
Then the bill was wrong as well!
Haven't been back.

Re: Palazzo in Burnley
Shhh about dining on the back terrace of the Villa on a sunny day/evening
It's one of the north west's best kept secrets
You'll feel happier with life than an '82 Marco Tardelli with Sophia Loren kneeling under the table

I started in the Bank at Grimshaw Street in 1980........strange sitting there having a lasagne near to where I used to sit getting a rollicking for being useless!

Very good food, it can be a little slow when it's busy but it's a really nice place.
