watford are getting ideas above their station i think, they have had some decent managers, their fans have been more than satisfied.
The present set up seems intent on having them walk before they can run. Very dodgy strategy as we have witnessed elsewhere.
The ambition might be a good thing, but when they dismiss people of ability on a virtual whim, then you just know something is not right.
Sean Dyche and every other manager is well aware of the pitfalls at one of these clubs. Burnley is ten times a better option in comparison.

I'm surprised he lasted so long. He was lucky to stay in the job at Christmas.

The owners at Watford set very high targets ( rightly or wrongly ), the manager had failed to reach those targets by Christmas and was therefore getting the sack, but the manager that the owners wanted to replace Mazzarri didn't materialise for whatever reason.

The players wanting him out has been ongoing for weeks.

Succeed or be dammed at Watford.

I think you'll find that manager's who's first language is a Romance Language struggle with English because sentence structure is a lot different. I think you'll find English will take many years to learn even if these managers had the time to put intense study in. German, Dutch and Scandinavian Managers however would find it a lot easier to learn. Some managers like Mourinho and Wenger learned English before they moved to England anyway as did Klopp and Pulis.

Pulis? You mean they don't speak fluent English in Wales?

Hasnt Ranieri been linked?
I can see that and if it happens and they have a poor start, they'd be under pressure I think.
You can't help wonder what the players feel about the constant changes. Troy Deeney has been linked with West Brom. He's been something of a constant at Watford, if he left you'd have to question the direction they're going.

Apparently Tevez speaks Spanish like it's a foreign language to him.

The only thing about this that makes me wonder a little bit more is the distance to his house being considerably shorter...

[quote="ClaretTony"]When they played on the Turf earlier this season they had players from eleven different countries starting the game so not speaking English was probably only a problem for Troy Deeney.

Then the only person they should get to manage Watford is Paul Whitehouse. I am sure you will find his half time "pep talks" on You tube-hilarious for anyone who has never seen them.

Worked for free as Russia coach because Capello nearly bankrupted their FA.

Hardly a mercenary.

3 Russian league titles, and 4 cup wins. Champions League quarter finals. Speaks English, has been living in London. Only a year older than Dyche.

Slutsky sounds a good choice.

I mentioned that in another post, plenty of nice places up north to live but he has chosen to stay put,I think if he was offered it he would consider it very carefully, unfortunately :(

A policy that thinks that instead of a manager having a chance to lose the dressing room (and matches), the dressing room will be kept on its toes by just changing the manager, to avoid the usual first element!

They risk appointing someone who doesn't get the dressing room in the first place, of course! (Like Swansea)

Oops, sorry. I thought it was a made up name too. Oh well, if he's worked for free for a year the a season at Watford would be a good deal for him.

Didn't Slutsky manage the hopeless Russian team at the Euros? I certainly remember seeing his chubby mug slumped on the bench as he watched his under achieving side not win a game.

Just read in the Moscow Times that Slutsky plans to bring his 2 key back room staff - Slagsky and Bittarty
