That's not the point at all.
The fact that a player is too honest and doesn't go down when he is fouled is an entirely separate matter to whether a player is entitled to pretend he is fouled and go to ground when he isn't fouled.
Just because a player gets tight to Gray and makes contact with him, that does not mean it is a push and does not make it a foul. Pretending it is a push is simulation.

it would seriously **** Brighton fans off if he went to Palace.
I'd hate to lose him if I'm being honest

I think we need 4 strikers with the new one being our major summer investment.

Will be good for most champ clubs, bit of a handful and will always bang in a good few goals. He's our weakest striker (IMO) though and i really think we need to be looking for a damn site better than Ash Barnes for the future. He's been decent for us though and for a relatively weak prem side like ourselves,he's bustling, niggling and cheating style has often helped us out. I'd be amazed if he got a gig elsewhere in the prem though, hes got nowhere near enough technical ability, cant tackleor pass particularly well and is slow (good 1st touch though)

The present era is often criticised by ex players for being too soft. They say you can barely make a tackle without risking a yellow card.
That might be true, but there is certainly a lot more holding, grappling almost, particularly in the 18yard box.
Rarely does the ref act on these blatant incidents. Barnes is very adept at dealing with this kind of play, he can look awkward and ungainly, but he is very astute when it comes to roughing up opponents when the need arises. It may be a fine line, but he walks it well.
I like him a lot.I think he'd benefit from better supply as would anyone else who plays up front for us.

I wouldn't be that amazed which is why Newcastle and Palace are interested. PL experience and offers another option.

Excuse me whilst I roll on the floor in laughter at the offer

. It would cost more than that for a half decent league 1 player these days.

I think with Newcastle it is more Benitez looking for Kuyt type figure that he had at Liverpool - has some sound technical skills, prepared to fight, never back down and die for the team whenever he gets the chance and the bigger the game the better he plays. Opposing defenders hate playing against these types and they can free up opportunities for other attacking players. Barnes fits that bill well and the rumoured price - makes him a very attractive proposition.

What of that Chris Long fellah, is he away?
Joking aside I'd really like us to beg Man City for Patrick Roberts as a purchase (20m?) or on loan

Chris Long struggled to get a game at Bolton in their League 1 promotion
Would not think he is ready for Premier League.
