On a day when we're talking about legends

Post by MACCA » Fri May 19, 2017 10:13 pm

Met this man tonight. Obviously never seen him play, but recognised him whilst he was glass collecting in a club I'm at.. yes glass collecting.
What a cracking bloke!
What a great pleasure meeting and talking to him for a short time.

Made my weekend!

He just "headed a ball a lot" for Burnley was his description.

I knew he was a former Burnley player when I saw him, but I couldn't put a name to him. Only needed to ask him and he was more than happy to talk Burnley and football, even posing for a picture. Very laid back.

Plenty of gentlemen and genuine nice men still around, If I'm a fraction of the humble and polite man Andy is, I'll settle for that.

My era, Andy Lochead was well named, could bullet head the ball like no other.

Happy?

I was delighted, an absolute pleasure to even talk to him.

I think it's fair to say that the wonderful Peter Noble carried on a tradition possibly started by Andy, 'Why kick a ball when you can volley it with your head' ;)
