Our form post Lincoln
10 points home and away. That has to improve going into next season. Just one home win in that time.
This is why away form needs to improve next season as home form alone wont be enough.
Confident we will get the right players in.

Re: Our form post Lincoln
I just think Dyche has lost the dressing room tbh. It must be pretty demoralizing losing against a non league side at home and creating nothing. After a game like that, no doubt the players will have questioned the system they're asked to play in (in their own head). The players just don't look happy to play for him, its almost like Dyche has sucked all enjoyment for the game out of the players. Hendrick with his driving talent, eye for a goal and passing ability yet hes asked to play a statue role in a rigid system. Gray with his pace and power and dangerous runs yet we continue to hoof it to him. You can see Gray visibly frustrated with the lack of service. So many underperforming players who would be doing better elsewhere Imo.

I don't see the team oozing confidence, belief and fight. 2 wins in approx 15 games. I don't see the players visibly happy on the pitch, all rumors have been about players leaving so far. Defour supposedly unhappy and wanting out.taio wrote:

Defour and Boyd are definitely off. Keane too albeit in different circumstances.
Gray, Mee and Heaton could go but doubt it.
Need to get some more experienced heads in along with more flair.

KRBFC - This guy is surely a troll? Either that or he knows nothing about football. I've never known someone talk so much sh**e!
Re: Our form post Lincoln
Absolutely not, you have no response which says it all. There is zero fight in this team, confidence and belief has completely gone. A bunch of under performing players who have crawled over the line after a good start. Things change, managers lose the faith of the players over time, I don't see evidence the players believe in Dyche anymore. Imagine being Andre Gray and playing for us, you would hate it. The players simply aren't proud to wear the shirt because of the hideous brand of football our club is now associated with. Ask any footballer, non of them like to play the "wrong" way, Yawn Dyche took the beautiful out of the "beautiful game".taio wrote:On reflection Sid is probably right - just a lame fishing expedition

No fight? Are you serious? No doubt since the Palace win (which was full of fight incidently) we have tailed off, but to suggest we have no fight is an absolute joke. We're Burnley for god sake. Small town, small club, small budgets, small fanbase, competing and surviving in the most competitive league in the world and we've done so with a great amount of fight against the odds. Anyone unhappy with this season and the position we are in need their head checking. Or even better bugger off to support Rovers! You and that other clown ablueclaret spoil this board for everyone else in my opinion.

The only person he's lost is Defour which is a shame but I won't be losing any sleep over it.

Re: Our form post Lincoln
Post Lincoln we've played better sides at home and been away for more than at home. despite that we've played reasonably well away and been unfortunate not to take more points than we did. I'm most disappointed we only picked 1 up from the last 9 after that great win at Palace. however, we have been playing with a reserve back line which has conceded 6 in those games.
Re: Our form post Lincoln
I really hope you're right. Preformances have not been great recently and results have not either. I'm absolutley thrilled we've stayed up but I do have concerns for next year.cricketfieldclarets wrote:10 points home and away. That has to improve going into next season. Confident we will get the right players in.
We need to buy a spine for the squad in the summer, and they need to be premier league quality. Keane will leave, Defour will too, and we will need a striker who can score. These players will not come cheap and we need proven quality to improve, not players finding their feet in the division. I'm just not sure where the players will come from, as a club we've done very badly with foreign players and that's the only market I can see us competing in for quality. Recruitment will be absolutley key this year for certain, I just hope we get the players, and we get them in early enough.

Saved, ultimately, by the absolute mediocrity of the division. 15 point gap between 7th and 8th ? Rest mich of a muchness aside form Middlesbrough and a hapless Sunderland.
That said it's a big achievement keeping Burnley in the Premier League in any season. Next season will be even tougher, we need 5 or 6 players for sure, however this time we need to ensure that they actually improve the starting eleven. Not sure, with possibly the exception of Hendrick, that any of the signimgs in the last 12 months have actually done that. In addition we failed miserably again in the loan market, appears pointless even bothering with that to be honest.

KBRFC you slagged off Dyche last season but he's got (virtually) the same set of players to 16th in the Premier League- (or to a couple of wins away from top ten) In all seriousness where do you think a manager of your choice should get us to?KRBFC wrote:If you believe everything players say then I guess so. At least KRBFC is consistent in his role as leader of the Dyche Out campaign.
Surprised they haven't registered for election, like the Rovers fan has done to get Venkys out.

Re: Our form post Lincoln
No one can seriously contest it's been an incredible achievement to survive the first season as we did.
The gaffer and the players deserve all the plaudits for that.
We do however need a major player overhaul if you ask me, as I fear we won't be able to survive doing the same next season. More speed and quality on the ball needed, and also more tactical flexibility if I dare say so.

Two years ago we lost 4-0 to West Brom, but I'd say they have a far better side this time.
Re: Our form post Lincoln
Vokes can score a decent amount for a target man. Gray on the other hand has had a poor season. He missed a dynamite chance today that, had it gone in, would have changed the outcome of the game. It may not be popular, but at premier league level you have to take those chances. I'm far from convinced he's the natural finisher most fans portray him as.Sidney1st wrote:We have strikers who can score, it's better service they need.

Re: Our form post Lincoln
Top scorers among players who don't play for the top 7:
King (Bournemouth) 16
Benteke (Palace) 15
Defoe (Sunderland) 15
Llorente (Swansea) 15
Vardy (Leicester) 13
Then we're into Deeney & Vokes on 10.
Obviously it would be nice to get other players with more than 10 goals - Kane, Lukaku, Sanchez, Costa, Aguero, Alli, Ibrahimovic, Hazard, Heung-min, Coutinho, Mane, Giroud, Firmino - but they won't come cheap! Actually, looking at that list shows what a huge gap there is between the top 6 and the rest. Barring the wildcard Lukaku at Everton, it would be difficult to imagine any of the second list playing outside the "big six"; and difficult to imagine any of the first list playing at the "big six". There's no overlap between the lists.

Re: Our form post Lincoln
I actually agree with you on Vokes, I do believe he's good enough for a low end premier league club, and I think he's capable of ten a year, respectable for a target man in this division by anyone's standards. Ideally we will need an out and out finisher though, what worries me is that because Gray has pace, and we lack it, he has to playSidney1st wrote:Fair points.
