Our form post Lincoln
Re: Our form post Lincoln
A lot of promoted sides struggle in the second half of the season when their thinner squads begin to take a toll. That coupled with the imbalance with home and away fixtures has made it tough this year.
All of that said, getting promoted twice and then staying up have been incredible achievements for our club; pound for pound we are far and away the best in the country. I heard that on the television this morning, we have spend less per point than any other Premier League team. I just can't understand why any supporter has any reason to complain. It's been a wonderful couple of years supporting Burnley. Equivalent to us are clubs like Preston and Barnsley and look how far ahead of them we are.

The second half of the season is when other teams have found out all about you, they will have watched how other teams have faired, how they succeeded or failed. If we think we can succeed a second season with the exact same style of play we will be mistaken. Next season can he adapt the style of play? will will be just targeting over priced British based players from the Championship in the transfer market?, will he trust the players he brings in to be in the first team?
Next season will be a career defining season for Dyche, If he succeeds he will probably go on to manage so called bigger teams, if not he will probably go ply his trade with another Championship club.

The thing about pace isn't necessarily about who has it, but as much as where you use it. In reality, the only benefit we get from Gray's pace is his ability to get past the last defender. We don't get the ball to him often in that situation, so not much point in his pace really.boyyanno wrote:I actually agree with you on Vokes, I do believe he's good enough for a low end premier league club, and I think he's capable of ten a year, respectable for a target man in this division by anyone's standards. Ideally we will need an out and out finisher though, what worries me is that because Gray has pace, and we lack it, he has to play

Should be a different story next season now we've had a season of him wanting Dyche out and throwing tantrums over our away form that he watched online.Saxoman wrote:Krbfc couldn't be more obvious on here, and you still get wound up.. mad.
If he carries on his stupid campaign next season I expect a lot of people will block him.

Except Arsenal tried to sign Vardy, Benteke was at Liverpool and Defoe was at Spurs. Also Alli was signed from MK Done.dsr wrote:Top scorers among players who don't play for the top 7:
King (Bournemouth) 16
Benteke (Palace) 15
Defoe (Sunderland) 15
Llorente (Swansea) 15
Vardy (Leicester) 13
Then we're into Deeney & Vokes on 10.
Obviously it would be nice to get other players with more than 10 goals - Kane, Lukaku, Sanchez, Costa, Aguero, Alli, Ibrahimovic, Hazard, Heung-min, Coutinho, Mane, Giroud, Firmino - but they won't come cheap! Actually, looking at that list shows what a huge gap there is between the top 6 and the rest. Barring the wildcard Lukaku at Everton, it would be difficult to imagine any of the second list playing outside the "big six"; and difficult to imagine any of the first list playing at the "big six". There's no overlap between the lists.
Seriously though I get your point and the gap is scary. Even more so when you think the gap between about 8th in the prem and mid table Championship isn't that as big as top 6 and the rest.
