Marcus Kaye

Post by Vegas Claret » Sun May 28, 2017 6:48 pm

just found out he sadly passed away. For those of you who don't know him he was a Burnley lad (lived near the Turf as it happened) resident dj at the Angels in the very early 90's, went on to have a very good career as a music producer and DJ. Very sad to lose a good mate :(

Aye, seen this myself, RIP Marcus.

A Burnley lad (Man Utd fan) who we should all be proud of.

True pioneer in the drum and bass scene. Will be sadly missed.

As a late-teenage drum n bass head I always loved that a big name producer was from Burnley.

Suppose this is the track I know him most from, as it was on DJ Marky's Brazilian Job mix.

His remix of Better Place was on there too:

Funeral today for fellow claret and my old friend Marcus - 45 is way way too young

Excellent turnout from the old crew of Burnley in the late 80's and a very good turnout from the D&B royalty of London and Manchester. The London crew led by Goldie appeared particularly devastated. Massive respect all round for a huge world class talent from our home town.

for those who are interested and like D&B there have been many tribute shows for Marcus of particular note are the following

http://rinse.fm/marcus-intalex-tribute-show/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; a 4 hour show led by Fabio and having the studio rammed with all the D&B leading players

Giles Peterson on BBC Radio 6 http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08swvm6" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - a tribute mix from 51:30 and a short but powerful statement about the influence of Marcus on the D& B scene at 8:00
