I often mute the adverts when they're on. I find that so many of them use cheap ploys nowadays to try and gain attention. Ie, repeating the same phrase over and over again or using a Whatsapp or Facebook notification sound. Occasionally (perhaps once a year or two) I'll find a genuinely original advert that isn't totally moronic. On such occasions, I stand up and applaud.

Not a TV ad but on the radio there's a scrap metal company and they say show us the metal well show you the money or something along those lines. Like a fake quiz show advert, so annoying.

i think the cynicism in me reached a crescendo when the whole lot of them en masse decided it was fine to pop afro haired , mixed race families into all the ads. Not because I object, simply because they NEVER did it before. Clearly the stats came in at some blue sky meeting, and the potential loss of earnings was top of the agenda. It was within the blnk of an eye, ...no black people exist , to loads of black people exist, and all of them just being british in values and desiring beans or fast food in nice, cosy standardised family pack units.
the ad folk are an embarrassing filthy bunch , really detestable.and the worst bit, the adverts are dross. those inane aunt bessie;s yorkshire pudding dollops that the celebs in the jungle used, was gut wrenchingly bad. but...ITV audiences are the **** of the earth.

I always skip the ads so generally only see the 'this programme brought to you by' ones just before they cut to the break.

The current Dacia one that sponsors programmes on Dave really annoys me.

Also watching BGT last night (I know it's crap but the wife likes it), AO using a Ramones tune to sell whatever it is they sell is sacrilege.

Another one that springs to mind is the John Cleese one where he tries to reprise the Fawlty Towers hitting the car with a branch scene for specsavers..it simply doesn't work and isn't funny.

John cleese just isn't funny and never was. I'd rather watch the skeletor ad than fawlty towers.

I like the one for some sort of carpet cleaner powder, which has a strangely decent bit of background music and cute girl hoovering.

Dislike that horse that runs in slow music to shite backing music, likewise that flying ostrich - which lasts for about an hour and pretty much anyone featuring Americans. I had no idea that Pepsi person that took her wig off to show she was a cop lover was a Kardashian. Why is my phone programmed to even recognise the word Kardashian? I've never typed it before...
