A Bob Bradley Dennis Wise partnership, or Ryan Giggs /Neil Warnock pairing, how could we fail ?

What makes people think we would have any chance of tempting David Wagner our way?

He's already made it to the Premier League and it wouldn't surprise me if Hudds gave their manager a bigger salary and more to spend in the market than we could offer.

I respect Dyche and hope he stays. If he goes, the board has more than proven recently that it knows how to spot a manager who is a good fit for the club.

Just seen an outdated chart of the earnings of the premier league managers, reported that Dyche was on £420.000, whilst his then counterpart at Palace , Pardew, was picking up £1.5 million, not sure how much validity these figures had at the time, but differences were extraordinary. Mourhino on around £15 million, fat sam on 3, Hughes about 2 million, surprised to see Howe on 3/4 million quid a year at Bournemouth.
Hardly surprising some are tempted away by the pay packet !

Why do people think these rumours are true? It's just obvious, easy, lazy journalism. He was on his way to villa 3 years ago and every month since.

The only way he'd have left is if we'd have been relegated and he'd have taken us as far as he could .

As it happens, we survived and there is another job to be done.

The Board are sorting a new contract for a manager they trust, The manager trusts the Board. he was kept on after relegation, unlike other clubs. He has projects to achieve at Burnley, beyond the football. Burnley is football, like no other town.

The man is building a legacy, so he can be remembered down the ages. You don't get that for a couple of seasons (at most) at CP.

Dump the speculation and let's concentrate on his squad building for next season.

Up the Clarets.

Legacy or bank balance? I know which I'd choose.
You have to realise that there is every possibility that we will be a bottom 3 club next season, guaranteed unless we improve on our form of the second half of the season. In that case I reckon he'd be sacked by Christmas anyhow.

We could easily improve on that offer, but i don't think his motives would be financial.
Garlick will have to match Dyche's ambition whilst still safe guarding our future.

We were so far in front of the bottom three that we could afford to take our foot off the gas, even playing in holiday mode for the last few games. We did what we had to, and very easily as well.

And we wouldn't sack him, come what may. Remember, we offered Brian Laws a new contract after we'd got relegated from the Prem the first time around.

He doesn't need the money. he needs to be appreciated and allowed to develop our football club in his own way, with Board support. That is the ultimate accolade for anyone.

Sean Dyche way will appear eventually!

Heatons performance at old Trafford ( and at other grounds) reminded me of schmeichal .

Id like to think that on a managerial level, Sean Dyche has a Wenger-like "project" here at the turf (and at Gawthorpe)

Point 1:Is that acceptable to people who pay to watch games?

Point 2 totally different circumstances, and would the board tolerate a second relegation during his management?

Not experienced in the Prem but has worked wonders and got promoted with almost every team he has managed. Plays good football as well.
Very left field suggestion but also potentially a superb suggestion. Done very well at both Northampton and Sheffield.

Dyche is in a prime position at Burnley and at the top of his game. He is respected for his strong man management skills, he is strong, forceful, demands respect within the team, knows how to bring his subordinates into line and has the BFC board baying at his knees.

He'll be gone by next weekend :-(

Tim Noone,

I am a realist (I like to think I am). I'm more or less thinking what I would do if I was SD.
As for our PL status, I think we are going to struggle unless we recruit some top class players. Problem is that top class players want more than we are likely to pay.
In some respects our second season is likely to be harder than our first.

I cant see us matching what palace would . He will have better players to work with more money to spend . Closer to home . It will intresting if he does go what he will do with the likes of zaha and townsend all the pace to burn but will he convert them into team players that work hard and take away there threat going forward ?

Football London seem fairly convinced about Dyche at Palace...and also optimistic that Keane and Heaton would want to join them as a "bigger club", as well as Hendrick, Boyd and Brady - who would all be on the bench as backups according to them

Seriously why would any sane person go to a club that's had 7 managers in 7 seasons? He really has a job for life here, unless he's threatening to take us down to league 1 which is highly unlikely. BBC sport had an article earlier and not one palace fan had mentioned Dyche.

If (and I'll say IF again) he goes, who will he want to take with him to Palace?

Heaton and Mee are the obvious ones I think. And although we know he loves Arfield, Boyd and Barnes, I'm not sure they would fit in at Palace without completely overhauling the nucleus of the squad.

I'm not convinced he will leave us for Palace, but the odds seem to still have him as firm favourite. One thing's for certain though. If it happens, I hope it happens asap. We can't afford to be without next season's manager for a large portion of the window.

Are managers contracts the same as players contracts. Could Burnley refuse to let him leave and make him see out his contract with us. I'm not saying this would be in the best interest of the club or team but just curious.

They could put him on gardening leave, like Palace did with Steve Bruce. He wouldn't legally be allowed to become Palace manager during the remaining time of his contract.
