Just moved back into the area after a fair few years and Belvedere & Calder Vale Sports Club appears to be the closest watering hole to my new home.
Now I've done most of the unpacking I am ready for a pint.
Does anyone go in? Do you have to be a member or can I just wander in?
Any information gratefully received

You can just wonder in, however I don't think it opens until 19:00 midweek.
The beer is a bit pricey, but they do have sky sports and it's free pool and darts all the time, so evens itself up should you watch sport or play pub games.
Darts night/killer pool is Thursday and usually a good few in.

Cheers MACCA really helpful. That's beer sorted.
Darts eh? I've been known to throw the odd arrow. Do they have a team?

No, but they want to make one. There's anywhere between 4 and 8 turn up most weeks but just needs someone to grab the bull by the horns and start one. ( think you only need 5 players )
I call in during the school hols and have a beer and a chuck, but can only commit every other week if a team started, but would happily be a stand in.
Good view out onto the pitches too, even spotted a deer one evening.

I thought the club had closed and houses been built on it, but obviously not. Haven't lived in the area for a number of years now so a bit out of touch.
I played cricket there once and witnessed possibly the hardest striking of a ball I've ever seen - directly at Eli, umpiring at the bowler's end. He didn't half move quickly for a big lad.
Took him a while to compose himself after that. To be honest, it took us longer to stop laughing.

I think the old Lucas Sports Club which was just down the road from Belvedere now as houses on it.
