I'm getting counselling as I type and hopefully will be fully enraged by tomorrow.

A fan club of 2 that I can almost confirm, although I may need some more dates with one of them to seal the deal.Bin Ont Turf wrote:![]()

Re: Is our transfer inactivity down to an unsettled manager?
Eckersley did not earn a real chance because it was obvious from his first appearance in the League Cup at Hartlepool in August 2009 that he was not good enough --remember ablue, it only takaes 15 minutes to assess -- your words -- not mine.
He was eventually sent off during extra time after being given the run around all night.
He appeared in the next round at Barnsley where he again was led a very merry dance by de Silva who tormented him all the first half which saw him receive a caution. He was subbed in the first minute of the second half after committing another foul which could easily have seen him dismissed.
His next appearance was some 4 months later in the FA Cup at MK Dons where he managed a full game and did not receive a caution. He then went on loan to Plymouth.
HIs final appearance for Burnley was again in the League Cup at Morecambe in August 2010 where he again picked up a caution and was subbed off after 76 minutes. Following this he went off on loan to Bradford, then Bury.
As far as the OP is concerned, none of us know what the truth is as far as SD wanting away, players leaving etc., etc. It is all conjecture, paper talk or whatever you want to call it and it will always be the case.

In answer to the OP: No. It's down to us refusing to have our trousers taken down, or agree to panic buy some overrated also ran just to keep the fans happy. It's because we're negotiating on the targets we actually really want, at a price which is sensible and within an overall budget and to me that makes sense. I doubt we're inactive at all. There will be an awful lot going on behind the scenes, but we may just be a little more careful and circumspect than some clubs and that's because we have to be. (And the manager is not unsettled)

Did we put a buy back clause in the Jutkiewicz deal?

I assume we never bothered with a sell on clause!Darthlaw wrote:Did we put a buy back clause in the Jutkiewicz deal?

Re: Is our transfer inactivity down to an unsettled manager?
I saw a better player than that, though at a lower level but you are quite right to hold your opinion from what you saw.
My case is that generally I am very supportive of players unlike many on here who turn on them at a moments notice.
So when I'm. called negative I need to remind them that actually it is them who have the issues.
For me a player needs an opportunity to impress like Treacey for instance who obviously had talent but issues along side.
As I have said for various reasons none of the three E's made a great impression but I"m glad two of them at least got their chance.

They all got chances and have all ended up at a lower level than the club after leaving.

It's good to see you're keeping an eye on him for me Sidney.
Where as you hope he sinks further, I hope his courage eventually gets rewarded, he is the only development squad player we have had who has played European football at a reasonable level.

I'm not arsed what he does because ultimately he is never going to be good enough for us, he's proving that all by himself.

Nope.
I had a look once to see if he'd progressed since leaving us and he hasn't.
Just like a lot of them haven't.

I don't think it's anything to do with our manager. What I do know is that we're 1 of only 3 Premier League clubs not to have made a signing yet and I doubt any of us are surprised. Mind you, I'd rather we take our time and identify the right targets than rush things through and end up with poor signings.
