I would expect our prudent board not to overlook such a thing. Its just great that we in a position þo offer 4 yr contracts. Its another step forward which strengthens us as a cluClaretTony wrote:You'd hope there is provision in there should we not spend the full four years in the Premier League

Aim high, prepare for the low. I want to win the title and as mentioned in another thread, I had us down as runners up. Granted I was under the influence and biased. Why not? Leicester won the league. Reality may strike home but I'm clinging on to our 'Runners Up' spot for dear life.

Excellent signing. I cheekily posted a link on my mate's (Leeds fan) Facebook profile and asked if he was any good

Re: ARTICLE: Charlie is Taylor made for Burnley
We've all known he was going to sign for about a week now but it's still a terrific signing. Ward was one of our most consistent performers last season so it should be good watching these two fight it out for the left back spot. If we bring another CB in I'd say the defence is sorted!
Ward / Taylor
Mee, Tarky, Long, Another
Lowton, Darikwa
Not bad options to be honest, not bad at all!

Re: ARTICLE: Charlie is Taylor made for Burnley
Looking at the squad list, I see Mee is out of contract before most. We need to persuade him to sign a new deal now. One would hope that is already being addressed. 4 year's from now would make a lot of sense.
Re: ARTICLE: Charlie is Taylor made for Burnley
Always said top end championship players are our market, and he is one of the best in that league.I do not like that at all though where they are refusing to play etc

I don't think entering into negotiations in four years will strengthen our cards.summitclaret wrote: 4 year's from now would make a lot of sense.

I'm surprised nobody has yet complained about signing another left back when we already have Ward.

Really pleased to see this one get over the line. I don't see him displacing Ward, initially anyhow. I have a hunch he will slot into left midfield. Anyhow a very good signing and glad to see he's on a 4 year contract.

I am delighted by this signing, and as an old Skiptonian, it's doubly nice to p!ss off Leeds fans.

Re: ARTICLE: Charlie is Taylor made for Burnley
Taylor is the best LB outside the premier league.
This is a top top signing.
In 6 months we will be raving about him the same as we were with Trippier

He is a top top signing but he isn't outside the premier league any more -- that's why he isn't what Newcastleclaret said

If we sign young up and coming players you won't find any complaints from me, it's what I've been advocating for years.

Re: ARTICLE: Charlie is Taylor made for Burnley
Yes, since it became know that we were interested in signing Robertson or Taylor I have always had a hunch that there might be a plan to play whoever we signed on the left in addition to Ward - especially away from home or against teams when we will be on the back foot.ashtonlongsider wrote:Really pleased to see this one get over the line. (Of course we need two left sided defensive players anyway).
I think Taylor could possibly be more effective than either Boyd or Arfield in this role.
