Re: Walters fee agreed
I`m not, per se, against this signing but I`m a little baffled at some posters assertions that he has been signed as a possible replacement for Boyd. Forgive me if I`m mistaken but on the occasions that I`ve watched him (always looked reasonably impressive) he`s always been a striker and certainly not the sort of player who will run themselves into the ground defensively down the wing. Boyd certainly broke the mould with that ability. I imagine that Dyche sees him as a supplementary striker of sorts but would be surprised if he`s a starter. If that IS the case (a) where would it leave him as he wants to play (World Cup) and (b) where does it place the likes of Barnes, Aygei and to a lesser extent Vokes?
p.s. the FAI must be thrilled! We must be saving them an absolute fortune in travel expenses.

Wasn't part of Fergie's plan when signed Park for ManU that it would increase replica shirt sales in Korea? I can see us opening up a Burnley club shop in downtown Dublin.

To be sure that would be a good idea. I'm looking forward to the new season, hopefully the crowd will be loud in the singing of Irish ballads.to think not long ago ''no surrender was sung''.utcontario claret wrote:Wasn't part of Fergie's plan when signed Park for ManU that it would increase replica shirt sales in Korea? "No Surrender" might have been sung on the night of the Celtic riot. Touchy bunch, those Fenians.

Especially when they're drunk, which is almost always.
