My claim to fame is noticing the soapy bit of the screenshot first.

I'd still have Grosicki. Pace, trickery, and a good assists return in his brief time with Hull thus far. Stick him on the right IMO

claretspice wrote:Would be slightly surprised if we wanted him, not only because of what happened last summer, but also because he appeared to me to be a bit short of end product when I saw him. Lots of really exciting, direct running, but not a lot by way of accurate crosses, passes or shots. His performance against us at the KC was a good example of that.

The other thing is that he definitely preferred cutting in on his right foot from the left. As others have noted, that's Brady's preferred side, and whilst it never hurts to have more than one really strong option in each position, I'd have thought it'd be better to have what might well be our two record signings lining up on their preferred sides at the same time, rather than having one out of position or on the bench.
does he "prefer" left wing and cutting inside, or is it all he can do when selected on the left? I guess we'll never know. He did have an interesting right-footed cross from the left side of the pitch though.

He came with a reputation for preferring the left wing and i recall a five live pundit (Pat Nevin i think) commenting during one game that he'd seen him a few times and has been more effective on the left than the right - and then his co-commentor commented later in the same game that Grosicki had swapped from left to right and had indeed become far less effective.

Surely the "What do I do with cats in my garden?" thread was a classic too. Ran about the same time as the £4K watch and the soapy tit w**k threads. It was compulsive viewing watching the cat people vs non-cat people, with their inventive, and often hilarious, methods of ridding your garden of cats.

Halcyon days!

An underrated thread from many years ago was framed with the question 'how do I get in the bath without the water spilling out?'

Muchacho claiming he could do Ronaldo (whilst at United) over 100 yards was probably my favourite thread of all time. Soapy tit w*nk was another great one, as was the £4k watch. Don't remember Princess Hales or the Sycamore Farm one, anybody care to give a summary of each?

Princess Hales was one of the very first boy/girls break-ups using social media, i.e. This site (well the previous). It played out in real time in front of us all, for which we all settled down with popcorn and soda. it went on for a couple of days, and it kinda made it soap-opera-like, and we looked on in our hundreds (well scores) at morning breakfast time to see if the soap was still running.

I think it might have been our very own Damo...... and girlfriend

Sycamore Farm was about the restaurant refusing entry due to one of the party wearing a baseball cap, and like the cat-in-the-garden thread that polarized opinion, so did this - those that upped the freedom aspect vs those that upped the courtesy/bad manners aspect

Muchacho (corrected to much ache on spell-checker) made us all spit out our drinks in disbelief as he claimed he could outsprint Ronaldo - and he was serious

The white dog poo thread explored why such a thing would occur, and why you don't see it around these days. It was an exploration of all things bowel and healthy eating for dogs

While Tony obviously keeps his ear to the ground on rumours there are occasions when he is merely expressing his personal opinion. He would I'm sure be the first to say - things change quickly and old coals suddenly burst back into flame. The only people who can say for certain what is happening in those offices are not about to let us know until its done.
