And have nt strengthened the first 11 yet. Time to get a move on and get some decent signings in.
Walters replacement for boyd who wasn't good enough
Taylor back up to ward who was outstanding
Cork is he instead of Westwood or defour?
Bardsley back up to Lowton.
Keane has been replaced by who??
Very poor so far, very very poor.

If it ended now, I'd agree.
As it is, I think we have strengthened the squad, which was needed. We do, I agree, need some further reinforcements, ones that will hopefully be in the starting eleven regularly.

Feel a number of people on here are just content to sign average quality on the basis of us surviving last season. Realistically, we survived in January - and then we got found out. After January we were on solid relegation form, and simply weren't good enough. We need a lot more quality if we're to survive this season; Phil Bardsley does not even slightly represent the quality we need. I really could not give a t*ss how many appearances he has.
Re: Won 2 in the last 15 league games
Its all good improving our squad but Dyche very rarely rotates so these guys will be sat on the bench therefore not improving us on the pitch where we finished very very poorly

Re: Won 2 in the last 15 league games
Amazing how many top managers and players struggled to work out Burnley last season. It seems to have taken them til January to work out either 4-4-2 or 4-5-1, I had no idea we were such ground breakers in the technical side of the game that teams had never come up with the task of facing such a formation.
Still there is time for another signing to "underwhelm" some on here, what a word to describe signings, maybe it is a clear indication that they can get giddy at the thought of some names. Of course had we not signed Bardsley and kept Darikwa and Lowton picked up an injury none of the underwhelmed would have whinged about no decent cover (remember the lack of cover for Marney and how long that got moaned at) when Darikwa was exposed as he was against lower league sides last season.

Re: Won 2 in the last 15 league games
I think it was Claretspice who made a point that at this stage last season we'd only brought in JBG. We still have a month of the window left. We've strengthened our cover at right and left back, replaced Boyd and strengthened midfield. As is being bandied around on social media, Man City have a higher defence budget than several countries. While humorous, it highlights the gulf in finances. When players of even average quality are being sold for upwards of £30 million, we're having to do our shopping at a different level. Considering our financial restraints, and bear in mind we have never been this wealthy; we can't compete with the vast majority of clubs. So if we can strengthen the squad and maintain our Premier League status, it'll be another step in progress.

It's quantity over quality the way we always go wrong, we did the same in SD 's first Premier League campaign, the way to a disgruntled squad, and we have Gray and Defour as wild cards already.

I think you will find that he is buying proven & experianced players to help us improve our game management to improve the issues we had in the 2nd half of the season, we will be stronger with the time & experiance the team is gaining but keeping hold of Defour & Gray + the next couple of signings will be crucial.

Actuality: team spirit under Dyche has been consistently terrific.
Maybe your theory needs amending in the light of the facts?

Re: Won 2 in the last 15 league games
Whilst I'm not jumping up and down for joy at our signings I can't understand why people are unhappy with them. Yes agreed if we haven't improved further by the end of the Window start jumping up and down in rage but does anyone actually believe we won't strengthen further?? Seriously has there ever been a window when we haven't towards the close of the window? History and common sense tells us we will do our key business towards the end of it. We would all like them in yesterday but that can't happen for a number of reasons chill out and worry about important stuff that you can influence.

That list just proves how poorly we did in the window last season. How many of those players had a serious impact on our season? Hendrick certainly did, plus Defour and JBG for about half a season each. We stayed up pretty much due to the players who were already at the club.ClaretTony wrote:I don't think I've missed anyone but these were the dates we made our signings a year ago

This summer already appears better. Flanagan Vs Taylor and Bardsley? Only one winner and it isn't Flanagan. Cork will improve the starting 11. Walters will be an upgrade on Boyd and will certainly improve the squad.
Some people on here need to wind their necks in. We're about 3 signings away from this being a terrific transfer window. 3rd choice GK for one and then a couple of marquee signings for CB and the wing hopefully. No reason to be downbeat so far, no reason at all.

Most Clarets including myself spend 3 months a year, including January, hoping for players to be signed for our beloved Burnley.
The window has been opened to allow players in more often this time than most so lets be thankful

Massive improvement on last Julys transfer activity. We should be a little more positive. Lets hope Dyche can add a little more quality to the 1st 11, possibly in a centre half
Re: Won 2 in the last 15 league games
it's worse than you think!! The BFC starting 11 and bench will have won zero competitive/league games before kicking off against Chelsea on Aug 12 2017.

Re: Won 2 in the last 15 league games
Why do people keep saying that Walters is a replacement for Boyd? Is it simply because he signed directly after Boyd had left (dates may be wrong there but seemed close to each other). In my books and according to my Stoke supporting mate, he is a centre forward who could, IF PUSHED, play out wide, a la Barnes. Will Walters run back and forth, tracking like a man possessed for 90 minutes? No!Rightfoot wrote:And have nt strengthened the first 11 yet. Time to get a move on and get some decent signings in.

Just prior to the 15 games Dyche spent £20m in the January transfer window. I think personally this has dented Dyche's own confidence in his own ability in the transfer market (or/and maybe the board's ?) and thats why we are getting the safe and stable signings we are getting this summer.

Re: Won 2 in the last 15 league games
We've signed 3 Premier League players with about 600 Premier League appearances between them - that's a huge plus in my book. The other is a young player (23 years old) with almost 100 Championship appearances. These aren't bad players. Those complaining about the transfer window are wasting their breath. Best to wait until the window has concluded - I have a feeling we'll make at least a couple of more exciting signings before the window closes.
