Re: Interest in Heaton
Can't find the link but towards the end of the season who scored posted that Mee was second in the league for mistakes that lead to goals.
A Bournemouth player was first.
Good player but no one can deny he made quite a few mistakes which lead directly to
Goals.

Re: Interest in Heaton
Big season for Mee, for the first time in his career at CB he won't have one of the best CBS in the country by his side.

Re: Interest in Heaton
If Ben Mee did make lots of mistakes, it basically reflects the huge amount of work he did.
Interesting that in Tom Heaton's 10 saves it's Mee cleaning up.

Should be interesting. Hopefully we can replace him in the next two weeks.Newcastleclaret93 wrote:Big season for Mee, for the first time in his career at CB he won't have one of the best CBS in the country by his side.
Re: Interest in Heaton
Not that interesting. His best saves were the ones were he had to stretch the most / react the quickest. As such, he didn't have the time or control to be able to guide the ball to safety, just do whatever he could to prevent the ball from crossing the line. This 10 is not a representative cross section of all of his saves.boatshed bill wrote:If Ben Mee did make lots of mistakes, it basically reflects the huge amount of work he did.

According to the premier league stats he isn't even in the top20 for mistakes leading to goals.

Re: Interest in Heaton
That link states Mee only made 1 mistake that lead to a goal. Everyone on here knows that is absolute dross.
I can think of two of the top of my head.
Hull city free kick.
Man City slip.
I'm sure if I could be bothered I could find at least 4 more.
However I still like Mee he is old fashioned and puts his body on the line. As someone else has stated if Mee didn't have occasional mistake we would be looking at another £30m player

Re: Interest in Heaton
The badly timed tackle against Hull lead to the FREE KICK which then lead to the goal.

Re: Interest in Heaton
he does make mistakes nobody is saying he is perfect everyone else who plays football makes mistakes, Mohamed wants him gone and replaced with better because he is a liability which just isn't true. I'm starting to think Ben might have banged somebodies missus.

Re: Interest in Heaton
Yeah because that's exactly what I said you clown.mohamed69 wrote:Based on what, 3 halves of football?
There are examples last season where it was palmed to an attacker who scored, but these weren't on heatons top 10 save video surprisingly.
But yeah you're right. Mee should be starting for England over Cahill and stones
I was merely pointing a salient fact that Mee reacts brilliantly to these situations, a point which you seem to have missed with your perpetual hardon for slagging off a player who has been solid all season.
Re: Interest in Heaton
Solid is the last word I would use. You suggested he's better than Cahill and stonesBraindead wrote:Yeah because that's exactly what I said you clown.

Re: Interest in Heaton
I know what we should do on this Heaton post. Slag our player off with one of the best defensive stats in the Leauge...! Yeh but the mistakes he made.. Mabe fast forward a little more and you will see another one of our players make another mistake further up the pitch that resulted in the second mistake happening so let's blame them both or what about the ****** that gave that throwing away that resulted in the first mistake then the second! Fs the whole team doesn't deserve to wear the shirt!! Get a grip Dyche!!!
Re: Interest in Heaton
Apologies if I missed it but I haven't seen any reference to the outstanding save Heaton made at 0-1. It was like a squatting/sitting starfish save to deny Murphy what looked like a certain goal. Best Burnley keeper I've ever seen.

This is like Chinese Whispers. It starts off with Heaton and then gradually transitions into Ben Mee.
