Interesting that this signing was announced with no rumours getting out about it beforehand. Hoping that's the case with some of our other ongoing business

Whilst admitting this is by no means exciting as signings go, the bit I'm most concerned with is the length of contract for a 3rd choice 'keeper.
I can see the point for one season, but we have to put trust in our younger alternatives soonish, or their careers will stall.
We now have a better league for U23's, who will be playing against much more gifted players than those who will be turning out against (say) Chester City, surely?
Or, maybe the manager has decided Pope is not up to it as 2nd choice?

Yes, I thought the same. There are certainly some that go under the radar. I'm hoping for a few more exciting signings to surprise us all in the coming weeks.

Good shout Ashington - hadn't thought of that one.

What amazes me is that abc still succeeds in winding up people. Just ignore him and he WILL go away when he realises his attention seeking, repetitiveness is no longer working.

I would much prefer CT to just blow him away but that isn't going to happen. Sorry to put the word blow in a message about abc.

Presently his meanderings are getting more and more absurd which tells me he is getting more and more frustrated since the taking of pi$$ on a few of his threads.

When was the last time you saw a Burnley keeper let one in like this?

He's absolutely hapless. Crazy signing. I'm sure there's plenty of older keepers out of contract who could come
In to pick up a wage and act as an emergency number 3 keeper.

We've signed 1 player so far who is slightly better than what we've already got. Smh

Our recruitment team is very poor

What's happened to Pope?

Didn't we go some way to get his signature a few years ago but never even used him as cover in the Heaton injuries last year.

I cant believe we've just signed a bench-warming goalkeeper who once made a mistake.

Is this a backward step for Heaton as the superfans on here have been telling us for weeks how vital it is having an old keeper with top level experience to share their wisdom.

I'm am almost as disappointed as the day we let Ste 'the cheerleader' Reid leave the club

Not really thanks. Trawling through YouTube to find mistakes that a goalkeeper has made is a bit weird.

All you need to do is google 'Legzdins error' or 'Legzdins mistake' and they pop right up.

The Birmingham fans laughing their cocks off at having him off their books gave good pointers.

Turned out nice again.

How queer!

The effort that some put in to being negative on here (no I'm not talking about putting Youtube videos up) is quite disturbing.

F***ing boring like.

Ahhh I always wondered how to use a search engine!

Funnily enough it works the same when you swap the word "Legzdins" for "Heaton" or even any other keeper!

I'll have to remember this next time I need to nitpick at a new signing. Thanks Walter.

Nowt wrong with this, bit of competition for Pope, backup with enough experience. Never been convinced of the merits of the immobile, soon-to-be-retired veteran between the sticks, not at this level. I hope he has a good time with us. Welcome Legz.

I can't believe you can look at last season's squad, which finished 16th in the Premier League, and say the recruitment team is poor. It just does not make any sense. Have you any idea about where Burnley have come from, and where we are now, based on players signed by the recruitment team? Taking Dyche's appointment as a starting point, how many of the current players (16th in the Premier League, remember) have been signed by this recruitment team? All but Mee, Marney, Vokes and Long, I believe.

I'll never forget your constant sniping at Grant which reached new heights (or lows) on the day we won at Watford in 2011/12. Danny Drinkwater fired a shot WIDE in the first minute and you gave him 3 out of 10 in the ratings because you said he should have saved it.

Shame you chose to bring your nonsense back on a totally unrelated thread.

Blimey! Who woke you up today?
