This club has badly lost its direction in this window, and my bet is it will live to regret it

Bore off! You absolute door handle!
Wouldn't be so bad if you went to the trouble of attending games occasionally!

Do you monitor my attendance or are you a stalker?

Certainly not a stalker! Takes me all my time to read a thread once I know you've posted on it.

What a load of utter, utter tosh.

Recruitment is more discerning than it's ever been. It's tight because we are competing with clubs with much bigger budgets.

I can remember when we "splashed" out on Mark Ford, Michael Williams, Steve Blatherwick and Lee Howey. Those were "exciting" signings.

In comparison, we only get the likes of Steven Defour, Jeff Hendrick, Scott Arfield etc etc these days.

Even only a few years ago the signing of Michael Kightly was a real coup for us and demonstrated that we were determined to bring in a better class of player. Far too often in the past we brought in players simply for the sake of it - new faces who were no better (and very often worse) than those they replaced.

We were told our policy was to bring in young players from other clubs and develop them it was a successful policy, that has now been cast aside.
Who told us that? You?

Like most clubs now our recruitment pool is mainly judged by stats. Dyche and Chairman with final word but our pool of talent is limited to players that stand out stat wise and those already in the know from previous scouting jobs.

I'm sure the reason we haven't removed the over 30 filter so far is because we can't afford younger players wages who match those stats.

I think some people blame Dyche for his signings but I actually think he has a lot less to do with them then people may think. He'll get a pool of potential targets and help pick them but I don't think he actually has much to do with the choice until that point. He's certainly no Harry Redknap or Tony pulls wheelin and dealin' that's for sure.
