Ticket prices are decent. Plenty of people have travelled separately to Ewood and the police just let them in and out. As long as you're not in a group of 20 lads you will be fine.
If they said you could travel how you like 80% of people would get on the buses. It's just the being forced that riles people.

Mates on a 10 - 6 night shift just round the corner from ewood and will have to do the same. Wont be able to walk 10 mins from the ground to work so wont be able to go or will have to book work off pathetic again.

Working in the morning too and have to travel up from the south. I quite enjoyed the busses last time, but timings could be a huge problem this time round.

I thought they may have relaxed this antiquated restriction. Aye well that's 2 from our household who'll not be attending.

I know folk who have done this for our last 2 visits, police would rather have you in the ground than turning you away because you've not come on a bus and you wandering about!

Been on the Buses a few times and if we weren't going on the Buses I'd probably go on the Supporters Coach, ergo, a Bus!

I can understand some of the frustration but it's hardly a life changing event so I plan on being there.

The coaching in is bloody annoying.

It's a shame because fans who have accumulated enough points for first release are likely to be veterin home and away travels and not likely to cause trouble because, amongst other reasons, they wouldn't want to have a ban.

All this means is tickets will go on general sale where you are more likely to get the knobheads who only go to the odd game and don't care about being banned

I would have thought so due to the time frame and the fact there are separate non ST prices.

There was never any doubt that the same travel arrangements would apply as last time. 1 because of the short timescales not allowing time to plan anything much new and 2 as the Police can be reasonably sure that they can keep the peace. If I was the match commander etc., given Hillsborough etc. I would not be changing anything. Too much at stake I am afraid.

Once again non season ticket holders have to dig a bit deeper! For some fans travelling to a home game can often mean shelling out over £150 a time inc tickets food travel expenses etc x that by 5 home games totals more than the price of a what a season ticket costs! Just saying

As people have said if you don't want to get the bus then don't and just turn up, they'll let you in as they don't want you wondering around the place on your own. The more that turn up on their own the more likely they are to let you in. And if they don't let you in just stand there until they let you in. You aren't breaking any law by doing this, so do it.
I feel some are using the buses, ticket prices, bus prices etc. as reasons not to go. I doubt these people would have gone if they could make their own way there (which they still can if they use their brain) and if prices were £5 each.
Lots are just finding excuses to justify the fact they were never going to go.

Would love to see this boycotted by Burnley fans. I am definitely voting with my feet again. Hope we field a reserve team and win though.

The price has nothing to do with the travel so can't be considered. Which team we put out isn't relevant. To be honest, given we were charged £34 for match tickets there last time I'm surprised they are as low as £18.

You were going very well right up until 'I feel some are using the buses' and then you went downhill.

Its a league cup match. It should be a tenner at best.
I also agree it would be nice for the club to subsidise the travel considering the farce of the buses.

It doesnt particularly matter to me but there are a lot of people as posted in this thread who are well and truly shafted especially as its a night fixture just after work. Coach'll probably set off at 5pm and herd us into ewood for 6pm.

This was the perfect chance to let fans make their own arrangements

I'm going to go, Its going to be such a faff to drive to burnley from Leeds, then to ewood, them back to burnley, then back to Leeds. Probably won't get home til after midnight and il have to be up at 5.

It's a ball ache but I'm not missing it.

This might put you off but since I was born I have been to every burnley game at Ewood, accept the 2 we have won. I was unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances. I haven't seen us win at Ewood. Just hope I don't jinx us

What's the difference between this game and the 2005 FA Cup game? No coaches then? No trouble?

It's absolutely ridiculous that this is forced on the fans, I genuinely feel both sets of fans should start boycotting these fixtures until the police and the clubs see sense.

Not another try on by the lazy authorities with collaboration with the clubs, as said just boycott the game and save yourself time, money and self respect.

That is not the club's fault, police impose it on the club - it costs a lot in administration to organise and they appear to pass the coaches on at cost - even though the insurance will be high due to past experience of our "fans" smashing them up - to put in context it s likely that the match bonuses to the players will be less than we earn from the share of the ticket money.

It's not the clubs and I can assure you our club are not in favour of it. But the police will tell you a very different story of 2005 re there being no trouble.

I hate it too. We had taken some strides forward two seasons ago but there has been no fan consultation this time sadly although I appreciate the short notice. Will now await details of the transport but hope all the improvements from last time have not been withdrawn.

Instead of the club just capitulating every time we play there what is to stop them turning round to the police and refusing to say that they are going to make it coach only from wherever they decide and at what times?

What can the police do?

Refuse to give us tickets? Good let them do it for a league cup game and see the backlash that they would get and how they would respond.

Are they allowed to insist on sending us in against our own will?

Other clubs seem to have challenged this archaic decision and beaten the police.

Why are we so soft and refuse to stand up to the police?

Maybe some sort of complaint or high profile protest is needed. This website coupled with social media pages has enough weight and contacts to get something going.

If you want something enough you can make it happen.

Not doing this bus thing anymore , pity Bithell and the Lancashire plod didn't get there act together with the Hanover game , I'm 55 year old business owner and it would mean me having to rearrange my day to suit them no thanks .

I have found the bubble approach adds to the occasion as the togetherness and tribal atmosphere kicks in way before the game kicks off so that everyone is in full voice when the time comes. The hair stands up on the back your neck when everyone is at that level, and what everyone expects of the Lancashire el classico.

Why don't the police just do their job and you know, police the match as normal? Do we still have a brain dead element like the Hannover 96?

If any of the travel changes/improvements introduced the last time we played have been withdrawn I hope that the club/Police at least give some explanation as to why!

I think the fear from the Police is that if they slacken the leash, it might encourage bell ends on both sides to have a crack at each other.

If you turned up with a match ticket at the gates, you will get in. Several people have done this on our last visits.

If you can get a peaceful group/march going they certainly won't be turning you away at the door.

Huddersfield challenged bubble travel, got it stopped.
Sunderland challenged bubble travel, got it stopped.
Someone on another thread said Wrexham have now done the same.

The police must have Burnley over a barrel, as they don't even question it.

It's pretty pathetic that grown men can't just support their teams without goading each other into a fight.

Why don't they cordon off an area around the away end with you know, police!

Wouldn't mind going to this certainly not going on a bus , pain isn't arse

There's a fairly long list of clubs who've publicly opposed the bubble matches (and many of them have managed to get rid of it). Burnley (and Blackburn) noticeably aren't in this list.

Not so, we have very much publicly opposed it. But nothing we can do if police insist. I suppose it's in our own hands in terms of fan behaviour but there were still problems at the games in 2015/16. It was much better but not enough unfortunately to relax it.

On a positive note the Chester v Wrexham bubble has finally been brought to an end this season. The more games that lose this the better the case.

Ive quite enjoyed getting the busses in recent games, certainly adds to the occasion for me. However it's looking like I'll need to book a half day off work now in order to fit in the 2 hour drive to Burnley before getting on the bus, so certainly an inconvenience this time round. Would happily do it on a weekend still.

Having to travel to Burnley to get on a bus is certainly not ideal for people who live closer to Blackburn than to Burnley eg Accy, Ossy, Gt Harwood, Rishton, Blackburn, Darwen and anywhere west of Blackburn.

Have we, I don't remember ever seeing a statement from the club opposing it. Can you point me in the right direction, cheers?
