Will you applaud?
Or like me, will you get annoyed with those that do?

You'd be surprised. Plenty applauded Martin Paterson when he scored for Huddersfield against us, a few seasons back.

If I was on ( going on my hols ) he would get a clap before, probably one if subbed off, but everywhere in between I hope he has a rotten game, as it's all about Burnley, and what is best for us.

Weren't we already 3-0 up though? Maybe then it isn't that bad but I think I just mumbled to myself "of course it would be him" when Pato scored.

He's an opposition player. Oh he used to play for Burnley, I get it. So we applaud Gray then yeah

He scored an equaliser early on and scored late on to make it 3-2. Just researched now

He's in my fantasy football team, so if he gets a consolation goal I might have an inner celebration.

Didn't Jay score for Soton in the FA Cup?
I cheered....when Burnley scored. I didn't cheer when Soton scored.

Applauded as a welcome home gesture at the start, but if he scores, roundly booed for treason. It's documented on this forum my feelings towards Jay, but once the whistle blows, he is not one of us. I hope he and the rest of his team have a stinker and we beat them five nil.

Indeed, and there were people sat around me and elsewhere who applauded both goals.
Never understood it myself.

I always tend to clap former players before the game starts (except Shackell) or afterwards if they make the effort to applaud their former fans.
Never during the game, that amounts to treason.

I laughed my head off and was in grate aura of relief when Rodriguez missed a sitter at the Turf for Southampton last season coming on as a sub for the last ten minutes to equalise

No chance on earth. The love in when he came on last season was embarrassing enough, just glad that he signed for WBA early this summer to avoid the "bring him home" tripe all summer.

I wish he well but not against us and yes I will applaud him at the line up I do feel with all the randoms we are looking at he could be the one that got away.It seemed a very cheap price he was sold for especially for a team who can't score and need all the strikers they can get.
Is his injury record a concern.?

Applause at the start from me, but if he does get a chance I expect him to blast in to row z being a Burnley fan and all. He won't want to upset the Burnley massive.

I will not applaud before or if he scores a goal. However may get applause at the end of the game.

I will not clap a player from the opposite team.
Even when it was Jim McIlroy I would show him no respect once he'd left.

Annoyed me when people applauded him on against Southampton last season, like he wasn't coming on to try and take a point off us. Might clap him at the end as long as we win.

I think the only opposition goal I have ever applauded was an absolute belter from Darren Bent on the Turf playing for Ipswich.

I was pleased that the lad did well since leaving Burnley especially the England cap, but he chose to leave us and has since chosen not to return. So whenever he plays against Burnley I hope he has a poor game and has a miserable day.
Cheer when he scores? No chance, I might give him a polite clap at the end of the game and that's it.

Cheering a Rodriguez goal against us would just be weird. And anyone who sings 'he's one of our own' on Saturday should be bitch-slapped.
