The championships leading goal scorer was never going to be sold for £4m to £5m was he ?

Even in "old money" pre the current madness previous top or 20 plus goal scorers have gone for between £12m and £16m (Hogan - £15m ; McMomack £12m ; Assombolonga - £16m and a number more I could list).

Chris Wood's tally last year was more than any of the above managed so whether you believe he is the right type of Burnley or not it's difficult to argue he is over priced in this market.
Leeds fans are lead to believe its around 16m with add ons

bids of 12m and 15m were rejected, and it was 3rd bid of 16 plus that got him

Nah, Juke's record leading up to us was rank average and if anything he did worse for us than any other club he's played for. It happens and he's moved onto a happier move for him.

If you're feeling that a player who scored 30 last season is making you feel like one only twice broke double figures in ten seasons, I'd suggest you need help.

£16m for Woods. I know the market if inflated, but that's a hell of a lot.

Just because I have my own opinion and feeling doesn't mean I need help thank you very much

In large transfers both sets of supporters create rumours that suggest that their club got the better deal. There'll be rumours on our side we paid circa 15 plus add ons, and LUFC supporters who will say it's straight out 20 mil. We wont know for sure as it will be undisclosed. Just the nature of the business and fans point scoring or making themselves feel better about the move. Andre Grays price (when we bought him) was anywhere between 6 and 12 million some will have you believe.

Reckon we would have heard by now.

Both clubs have to agree to announce at same time I think. The police in West York's have asked to hold off thr announcement until they can draft extra resources in to deal with the civil unrest likely in Morley.

They're just filming his crappy video to say we have signed him. Rumours he has got injured parachuting into Turf Moor when hitting the new Ladbrooks stand.

Possibly but not straightaway. Vokes has scored 7 in the last 7 EPL games.

£15m for a player who was top scorer in the championship isn't a bad deal in today's terms.

You consider also that he did this in a team that finished 7th and that is an impressive stat in my eyes.

Yes, Andre cost us £9m in the end I believe because we got promoted etc.

We doubled our money with 1 year to go on his contract with him barely breaking double figures in the Premier League.

At the time of buying Andre, Ross McCormack went for £11m which would have risen further with add-ons. He also had a similar (if not slightly worse if you look at his 4 seasons at Leeds in their entirety) games to goal ratio.

I don't think we have had our pants pulled down here by any means but equally the rate we have paid wasn't a bargain. It appears to be a fair market value for anyone who isn't yet accepting that you can't pick up the better championship players for bargain basement prices anymore even if they are close to ending their contract.

??????? WHY

Burnley's top goal scorer the season we went up in second place was Ings with 21 league Goals

Burnley's top goal scorer the season we were champions was Gray with 23 league Goals

Wood scored 27 League goals last season in a poorer team ........ he scored more than Ings and more than Gray at the same level
