I don't know who is advising you about tax, but I'd suggest you give up listening to them. They haven't a clue.

Walker was allowed to be in the country for as many days as he liked, but if he had gone over a certain number (possibly 90, but not my specialism) he would have been determined to be UK resident and would have had to pay UK tax on virtually all his income. He would not have been arrested.

Gary Barlow had a clever scheme which wasn't as clever as he thought, so had to pay the tax he thought he had avoided. He wasn't so much acting illegally, more that he was trying to avoid tax in a convoluted (and expensive) artificial way, and found it didn't work.

If you open an ISA, at least until this year when the rules changed, you were avoiding tax. If you have deliberately avoided opening an ISA because you thought it was illegal, then you've wasted your money.

1- I don't particularly like the song. Doesn't make me feel ashamed to be a Burnley fan but it is classless.
2- yes his daughter still has a box at Ewood and goes on the matches
3- the argument that "well they sing horrible songs so why shouldn't we?" Sounds pretty childish
4- Tax avoidance is not illegal or criminal. Evasion is and can be treated criminally.

Don't be such a dick! If he had stayed "one day over" he would have had a tax bill, he wouldn't have been arrested!!

Barlow evaded tax by putting his money in a scheme that was concocted purely as a tax vehicle. The investment company lost the court case and everyone had to pay tax. He didn't act illegally.

Go and do some reading on the difference between tax evasion and tax avoidance.

To be honest, any chants aimed at Blackburn right now is cingeworthy - we are past them & it is just weird to obsess over singing 'till we play ******* rovers' all the time!

Get over them and forgot about them - till next time.

Ps - for all the "but they sang this about Ben Lee" arguments, I sadly remember singing songs about certain chairmen having heart attacks and lying on the carpet in my youthful days. Frankly, I do regret that. Not big, not clever.

To the youths and billy big ******** out there, when you learn to sing a song at a reasonable cadence then I'll listen to your "this is a great chant" claims.

Exactly we can embarrass them in plenty of other ways, chicken references, horse references, visiting Shrewsbury while were going to Wembley  all relevant to their current plight,Walker's legacy has harmed them in the long term, because many of their newer and younger fans became entitled (pun intended),and now the glory games against the Manures and Liverpools of this world have ceased, they have reverted back to a middling 2nd/3rd level team as they were in the 70s and 80s,the difference is the huge debt they are burdened with plus the Premier League monies increasingly year on year. We don't need to mock them our reserves did the talking on the pitch last night that's enough for me.

Signifying that we were a division (or two) above them.

There's right and wrong on both sides, and doesn't look like changing, and you have 3 options.

But 1 fact is, wanting change things by pleading on a internet message board, will achieve absolutely nothing.
The OP wasn't pleading. Just pointing out that it's shameful. It doesn't really bother me and it doesn't really bother Blackburn fans. It just marks you as a scrubber. No decent person would sing it.

I think it stems from the bad taste of Blackburn fans over the years and similar chants by them directed at us.

Obviously it would be the adult thing not to drop to their level, but what do you expect? There is a lot of hate stored and a lot of satisfaction doing what their fans did to us, back to them.

It's a disgusting chant, coupled with the heart attack one.

As said above the people who glorify in this can't be reasoned with, so there is no way we can stop it being sung.

Last season I used to boo our own fans who sang the chant, ended up having two clarets square up to me in the CFS. Nothing happened just a lot of back and forth That was the first time I saw them at the game and the last. Complete knuckledraggers.

Stay classy Burnley, NNN.

I don't sing it, but I certainly did the Bill Fox one when I was younger and if they keep singing about incest, then its not like they have some moral high horse is it?

It will never be as bad as the night of the youth cup game at the Turf a good few years ago. When blackburn fans went through the entire line up singing "number 1 s@@@s his mum"
Disgusting to youth team lads with their families watching.
So little Sympathy after that from me.
