Re: Ranocchia
Be rather pleased with this.
Dunno why, but feeling confident on this.
We shall see. If it happens, we will have a very good and experienced defender, if not, tarka gets a decent run at it. Maybe even long enough to show us that by January, we don't actually need to bring in a Keane replacement.

Unless someone gets injured, then we're screwed.bobinho wrote:if not, tarka gets a decent run at it. Maybe even long enough to show us that by January, we don't actually need to bring in a Keane replacement.
Then if someone else gets injured we might as well start looking at directions to Burton.

Re: Ranocchia
The main thing for Ranocchia at the moment, presuming that Tarks will get a chance to prove himself, is he better than Kevin Long?
if the answer is yes, which it clearly is, then lets get him on board.

Re: Ranocchia
By Keane replacement, I meant a definite first team starter.
My point is he may already be here.
Although cover is always good, not having massive strength in depth doesn't guarantee relegation.

Re: Ranocchia
In italy at the minute. Theyve shirts from every league in the world in the local sports store. All the major clubs.
But either they arent able to shift them or theyre all big fans of defending. Only two English shirts they had was Stoke and Leicester. Known for their no no sense defenders!
Sign him on!

Further rumour today - see link:
http://www.novantesimo.it/index.php?act ... id=1009120" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Roughly translated:
After the six-month loan at Hull City last season, Andrea Ranocchia's career could live a new chapter in England. According to what was collected by TuttoMercatoWeb.com for the Inter defensive center, the Burnley would go ahead. Today, for this purpose, a meeting is scheduled between the intermediaries of the operation, with the English association that puts on the pot six million euros.

Re: Ranocchia
Spoke to a mate of mine who is a season ticket holder at Hull and knows his stuff about this.
He couldn't speak highly enough of him and went as far as to say that Harry Maguire owes his move to Leicester to the influence of Ranocchia alongside him. Said he's strong, quick enough for a centre back, and appeared to be a bit of an organiser, and was by a distance the best signing Hull made last January (far better than Grosicki, interestingly enough).

Re: Ranocchia
Can't say I've seen enough of him to form an opinion but if Inter really are desperate to get him off the books, 6 million euros seems a bit silly

Re: Ranocchia
£5 million quid a bit silly? In this market, no way. Its virtually a free transfer.CaptainClaret wrote:Can't say I've seen enough of him to form an opinion but if Inter really are desperate to get him off the books, 6 million euros seems a bit silly
Re: Ranocchia
Looks like Watford are in for him to now.

Suspect we are awaiting the last week of transfers to push through our offers but we may get beat to all of them.

Re: Ranocchia
Maybe with wimmer going to stoke opens the door for shawcross to leave
Re: Ranocchia
Dyche isn't happy with what he has. We definitely need a more mobile striker.

Which is fine until Tark or Mee picks up an injury and are out for a whileReecey1987 wrote:I think dyche is happy with what we have got . He belives in the group we have

Re: Ranocchia
I agree with you we need cover but if were going to end up getting our pants pulled down i cant see it happening . Not only that it looks like its proving tougher looking for a bench warmer

Re: Ranocchia
It could be that if we land Ranocchia, he may partner Tarkowski with Mee on the bench.claretspice wrote:Spoke to a mate of mine who is a season ticket holder at Hull and knows his stuff about this.

Re: Ranocchia
Have you watched Wood recently? Very mobile as in his movement to find space is very good. Far better to be like that than Gray who had pace but was very static and waited for things to happen before responding.Steddyman wrote:Dyche isn't happy with what he has. Never seen anything as ludicrous as dropping Mee!Quicknick wrote:It could be that if we land Ranocchia, he may partner Tarkowski with Mee on the bench.
