How do we approach the palace game?
De Boer under serious pressure to win the game because his times running out (crazy I know). If they coming to win the game at all cost will that make it easier for us?

Re: How do we approach the palace game?
I can't see Palace going gung-ho. I'd've thought they'd be satisfied with a draw - especially if Zaha and Sakho are out, as expected.
We just need to keep the pressure on them and play with our usual intensity; if we get an earlyish goal, it'll be a difficult afternoon for them with their confidence already low.

The same intensity we played Chelsea with and the same spirit we played Spurs with and the same persistence we played WBA with and the same dominance we played Blackburn with.

A game we'd look to win so I imagine SD will go 442 with a fully fit? squad at home. I'd like to see Wood start and maybe get the new signing on the last 15/20. Hopefully rubbish like Barnes won't needed.

I'd like to see you say that to Barnes's face!AlargeClaret wrote:A game we'd look to win so I imagine SD will go 442 with a fully fit? squad at home. I'd like to see Wood start and maybe get the new signing on the last 15/20. Hopefully rubbish like Barnes won't needed.
Re: How do we approach the palace game?
The first thing is for the crowd to get pumped up for a big match, as though our lives depend on it - because it may well do. the problem we now have in the crowd is complacency. It lets the away team off scott free.

Re: How do we approach the palace game?
exactly Ian, would be good if they played Video clips of David Dunn scoring his offside goal at Ewood against us just to get a few annoyed to generate some atmosphere. It played a huge part in Stoke staying up in the PL those first 3 or 4 seasons. Most of the time the Turf is far too polite

Re: How do we approach the palace game?
If Huddersfield can beat them 0-3 at Selhurst Park......Then I'd hope we could better that....?!?!?!

Is that the same rubbish Barnes that scored the important and excellent winner v them last year?

First play the 1st half, then the 2nd. Try to score more goals than them!
Re: How do we approach the palace game?

Curious to see this on sky sports. I though their new manager wanted to play a passing game, turns out they're even more direct than we are and even that's not working for them.
Fingers crossed for a poor performance from them and a pumped up Clarets XI who want to pick up where they left off with last season's home form.
Re: How do we approach the palace game?
Our manager will have a plan and I for one will be 100% behind that plan on the day. It may not be the one I would have selected but it is great to have options. I wonder if any of our Internationals will be left out v Palace? Wood and Defour should be ok, maybe even Hendrick could return having had two weeks off? Vokes, Brady, Arfield, Walters, Ward and JBG will have put in some shifts and travel no doubt.

Attack at pace ,ball played to feet.
Get men out wide and no hoof ball.
Up to Sam and Chris and watch the goals rush in.

Re: How do we approach the palace game?
Is the Brighton circle right in the middle because they haven't had an attack yet this season?

Re: How do we approach the palace game?
same 451 but give the wingers more license to attack, perhaps with walters in for JBG playing slightly more infield and Brady with licence to roam.
