Strange that, I've been following Burnley home and away since 1985 and I've never been treated unfairly just because I'm a football fan, less so because I support Burnley.

I personally think the beer throwing was wrong ..as I've seen it happen before.the reference to cog lane and sixteen year olds in stone island is a little unfair and not true.

Are you going on tomorrow night? I'll meet you outside the Park View at 7.30 and throw a pint of **** poor lager over you in order to improve your enjoyment of the match

I have apologised and was possibly using what journalists call artistic licence

So you haven't been told that the only option to travel to a match was a compulsory coach due to police instructions?

You're very lucky then - as mentioned above .... It's happened more at Turf Moor but also happened lots away from home too. From being told to "pi$$ off or get nicked" at Villa for seeing if there was going to be anything done to avoid getting hit with coins, fireworks or a brick ..... To getting searched outside a pub in the town centre at Hudersfield 10 mins after getting there - having nothing found on us - then banned from a town centre or be arrested for the rest of the day ..... Thats personal stuff over past few years ..... Been forced to stay in pubs and not leave at away days at Chelsea, Preston and other places ..... Forced to take coaches to Ewood (when i've travelled there with no trouble when I was younger and stupid) .... Theres more thats happened but it happens all over.
The police have a job to do, I respect that. To think that they don't take liberties with football fans that you wouldnt allow to happen day to day is quite naive, but seeing as you have never experienced anything out of the ordinary then I can understand your views ... Though I don't agree with them.

Just to say the police are parked right across the road outside park view ...and when all traffic gets to him he turns every one back.never seen as many 3 point turns.a simple sign would suffice.but hey ho...
