Re: Leaving early
I left at half time at Doncaster when Coyle was our manager. Probably the worst half of football that I've seen Grezza play for us.
I went to that Beefeater? boozer across the park from the ground. There were a couple of Clarets in there when I arrived, but by the time the second half was kicking off there must have been nearly 50 of us in there.
There goes that crappy myth from certain bellends on here that we always played brilliant football under Coyle.

I'm sure Sean Dyche will be delighted at you getting offended on his behalf, he might even add you to his Christmas card list.Juan Tanamera wrote:A thread that was started mainly about City fans leaving early and this joker managed to have a pop at Sean Dyche.
Beyond tedious.

Good luck with the rest of the season ( except when you visit the Turf ) No matter what happened Saturday, I'd never want Man United to win anything.

Re: Leaving early
bit weird the city fans leaving early when most of them had only arrived in the ground on 75 minutes.
Re: Leaving early
I was sat next to the home fans on the 2nd tier and would have to say there were some right knobs on both sides. I don't understand why someone needs to stand up with arms raised flicking the v's at the home fans when they've conceded a throw in. A number of Burnley fans were getting hot under the collar too complaining to the stewards. I think in one case with a woman fan it was a case of too much Pinot Grigio.
We left early, got sick of looking at the back of someone's coat.

Re: Leaving early
It's far far better to leave 10 - 15 minutes early to ensure you miss all the rush and the traffic....!!!
Yes, we might miss the last minutes of action! Might miss scoring that winning goal or equalising in injury time....Or even once in a while miss a couple of goals that take a cup game into extra time then miss all that and the penalties.....And so what we don't stay to congratulate the players on a job well done....!?!?!
The main thing is.....we get home far earlier than we would do and we get to sit down and do nothing at all.....!

Re: Leaving early
I think I've only ever left early once watching Burnley when we were 3 nil down away at Blackpool. I'm thinking it was just before we sold Kyle Lafferty but my memory may be playing tricks. I just know it was an absolutely horrendous performance and we were in that temporary stand they had for a season (or two!). That was just how I felt on the day so I left with mins to go.
At the end of the day we all have differing reasons for leaving early and it's everyones right to do so. My personal opinion is if I'm going away to watch us it really doesn't bother me if I'm home 30/60 mins later but that's just my preference. Each to their own and all that

He's not a real fan, he only comes on here to talk about his obsession with Donald Trump. He knows that he would be made to look stupid if he actually posted on a political forum.Imploding Turtle wrote:I honestly don't mind if you think you're a superior claret to me. Whatever makes you feel better about yourself. And i'm not being sarcastic about that. Some people struggle with self-esteem or confidence and if it makes you feel good to consider yourself superior to another as a Burnley fan then by all means, go ahead.
I just generally don't enjoy attending the games. It's OK if you don't understand.
Re: Leaving early
I'll never forget two sets of lads having a real slanging match in the JHU immediately following Jon Parkin putting Preston 3-1 up; the usual "Burnley, you're ****"/"Shut up and support the team" argument.
Anyway, the "Burnley, you're ****" group decided the pub was a better option than the remaining twenty minutes (and probably violence with the other lads), so they left.
Always gives me pause whenever I consider leaving early.

Re: Leaving early
I don't think that's fair to say about Tiao. He probably understands that there are more diverse views on forums like this than on political forums that quickly turn into circlejerks of liberals or conservatives and doesn't waste his time posting on those forums because they only serve to reinforce one's beliefs without being exposed to opposing opinions. Of course, there is the occasional idiot who doesn't consider this, and will criticise him without really thinking about it, but that's hardly Tiao's fault or problem.Clarinetclaret wrote:He's not a real fan, he only comes on here to talk about his obsession with Donald Trump.
