Hannover hooligans at it again

Post by UpTheBeehole » Wed Oct 18, 2017 1:37 pm

From Saturday's game:
Hooligans beat themselves in the Oststadt and the Schützenplatz

Two battles between Hannover 96-Hooligans and Eintracht Frankfurt supporters had to dissolve the police on Saturday. In the Oststadt about 80 rioters met at noon, after a few minutes the brawl broke up again. At the Schützenplatz and in Ohestrasse the police seized another 70 ultras.

At noon, the two Hooligan groups met at Rambergstraße shortly after 2 pm and started a fight. The Frankfurt-Ultras came from the direction of Hauptbahnhof, the 96-Hooligans had waited in a pub in the Oststadt. The police assume that the dispute was planned.

On both sides were about 40 hooligans, who had muffled themselves with hoods and scarves. After just a few minutes, the police arrived and the fans scattered. There are no injuries in the past, the police said on Saturday. Seven supporters of both clubs were able to arrest the police in a nearby pub, after the personal details were released. The remaining hooligans are currently volatile.

In order to clarify the disaster of the country, the police are asking the police to contact the West police department under telephone number (0511) 109-3920.

Second fight at the shooting range

The Hanover Police also inspected 70 Hanover 96 supporters, who apparently wanted to attack Eintracht fans' march - 40 of them, the officials on the Schützenplatz, 30 at the Ohestraße. On the Waterloostraße there was a fight between the 96-hooligans.

Any news on how the Polizei are getting on with the charges from the game at the Turf by the way?

No wonder our police can't do anything if the Hanover fans are arresting the police in Germany ....

Did you not see the update in the local press and other media outlets?

The uncollected, refundable ticket money, from the abandoned Burnley v Hannover96 game was split between some local charities.

I don't think Google Translate will be allowed to sit German O'level just yet.

It does seem that there's a resurgence of footy hooliganism in Germany though.

I will repost but slightly edited so it MIGHT be allowed. Nothing has or will happen. As we said at the time and shortly after. And as several people I know in Germany pointed out.

Statement today from the police on investigation at Burnley v Hannover game

We are continuing to investigate disorder involving fans at the Burnley vs Hannover friendly match.

In August, a large disturbance took place at Turf Moor with the game abandoned at half time.

We understand a number of Burnley fans have expressed interest about the progress of our investigation and we want to reassure supporters it is very much on-going.

Detectives from Lancashire Police are in close liaison with their counterparts in Germany, as well as the Crown Prosecution Service and Burnley Football Club.

CCTV footage from the game is being reviewed to identify offenders and pro-active action will be taken against them as soon as possible.

Investigations of this nature are difficult and complex but we are determined to prosecute offenders.

Disorder will not be tolerated by Lancashire Police or Burnley Football Club and law-abiding fans should not be subjected to any mindless criminal behaviour.

I couldn’t even get in to be subject to the danger. The Police should have been inside the toilets.

Well, there shouldn’t have been any need for police in the toilets, if folk just behaves themselves.

So here we go. Police now seeking to identify Burnley fans in relation to the trouble caused 4 months ago by Hannover fans. So far, by their own admission and not hearsay, friend of a friend etc., they have arrested ONE German supporter, who was released without charge.

Now I have no links what so ever to info from the club, police or other organization, just many years of following our club and knowing how the police work.

Shame we can't get the "police ask for you're videos/pictures thread" link.
Will show what many on here including myself said would happen. I think 99.9% of fans could see who caused the disorder, yet more than double the amount of Burnley fans have been arrested and charged than the German, and them figures look like increasing.

Sadly those who tried to "assist" the police have just caused their fellow Clarets a lot of problems.

Are you suggesting that people should have sent in evidence of Hannover fans being dicks but suppressed evidence of Burnley fans being dicks? Sure, the majority of the dickish behaviour was in the away end and we would all like to see those responsible face the music but it's surely equally desirable to see Burnley fans who behaved like dicks facing the music too?

No I'm suggesting that people should leave the "experts" to do THEIR job. As proved , they are not very good at it, so will get any conviction for the slightest offence that may have occurred in order to get a result ( statistic)
Sadly in this case it was always going to be the Burnley fans paying the price.

I don't condone retaliation, but once it occurred the police were always going to cover up their shortfalls, by shifting the blame.

Edit - I do wonder sometimes what some posters would do if their property, child, family got attacked or damaged.
Seems by some responses it would be.
" stand there, take it, ignore it, leave them to it, turn a blind eye, shift the blame etc. As that's their response to most things that happen to others.

Hannover fans turn up with gum shields and reported weapons intent on fighting yet only one arrest who is then released without charge. Very odd.

Absolutely flabbergasted that they even are asking to speak to Burnley fans.. Poor policing poor organisation and blame the victims not the aggressor. Anyone at the game or beforehand knows where the blame lies.. Allowing drunken fans to carry alcohol through the streets cause damage to public houses and attack police stewards and fans at the game.. Yep blame the Burnley fans FFS you couldn't make it up. Disgusting..

I presume the people who tried to “assist” the police don’t identify Burnley hooligans as being fellow Clarets. I know I don’t.

True but then there most be enough CCTV footage etc to identify the obvious amount of Hannover fans causing disorder.

What a surprise. As predicted, Lancashire police looking for those nasty Burnley fans who clearly instigated the problem by daring to sit in the home end, meanwhile the actual trouble makers get away scott free.

Well done Lancashire police. Another sterling job.
