We had that at the start of the season when Legzdins came in (and if there was an interest in Lindegaard, I can confirm that he would not have been able to sign at that time). When Tom was injured, we needed another goalkeeper in if possible. By this time Lindegaard was available and was signed. That's he's gone ahead of Legzdins isn't really relevant at all.
Remember when Spicer was our backup goalie? :)

Because it makes sense to have 3 goalkeepers like it makes sense to have 3 centre backs..

Oh wait..

Anyway it's irrelevant.
I may be wrong but I am sure he has alluded to outside issues being the reason he didnt sign for anyone in the summer. It wasnt until the season was well underway that he was able to due to unknown reason

As regards goalie what dont people understand about needing a gk with experience that plays with the U23s. That is what they are signed for. Maybe not good enough for 1st team but good enough to instill confidence to a young u23 backline.

Ahh right cheers, thought he wouldn't have been turning down a premier league football club due to other offers, after being released by PNE. He's no spring chicken.

It's surprising any young GK get through to first teams, if all clubs use an experienced one to play in the under 23's. No wonder the quality is down regarding English goalkeepers.

Yeah I get that but i think clubs prefer loaning out younger keepers to try to get proper first team football regardless of level. The dev squad/u23 games are really dead rubbers

Part of the reason the likes of Richard Wright and Shay Given can carry on drawing a wage in their twilight years

I see.

Well if all we have to discuss ( moan about ) is the recruitment process of a 3rd choice keeper, things are going better than all could have ever imagined.

I know....amazing times at The Turf. Just hope SD stays and decides to build the club bigger than any of us can have ever imagined. I mean he must have virtual free reign now to mould the club as he sees fitt. The progression in football style this season shows what he wants long term.

I have questioned certain decisions in the past but the likes of Noble and Green I kind of understand. It was more having bodies in the building to portray the image of a proper football club. Several teams with enough bodies in each to allow each group within that structure to grow. It would be no good having u18s playing their own and u23s matches as would suffer burn out and not allow them to grow properly. They were nothing more than stop gap signings to put in place the building blocks

Bardsley is a proven solid PL right back. I wouldn't love to see him start every week and I think at his age being backup is his right level, but to say this time last year the backup was Darikwa, we've improved massively.
