Bardsley

Post by ElectroClaret » Wed Nov 29, 2017 10:13 pm

Good solid performance by him.
Got to bear in mind his lack of game time, fitted in well.

Well done, PB and to the boss for bringing him in.

Pleased for him. He's played well in his previous few games as well.

He really impressed me against Leeds in the Cup - had no concerns over his ability to fill in.

Solid as a rock, and actually very decent going forward too.

Looks like a brilliant addition, has been really good in the cup games and tonight, slotted in seamlessly and will absolutely be keeping Lowton on his toes. Got plenty to his game going forward too, something I never realised whilst he was at Stoke.

Great, experienced pro. Not bad when we have this type of cover now. Just shows how far we have come recently.

He’s been a solid performer in the Prem for years now; we shouldn’t expect anything less. Great back up signing!

Always been solid in the prem. A few doubts that he may be a little too old but he is in great shape and is one of the reasons for our growth into a squad rather than a team.

I mentioned in my player ratings post that I thought it showed the extreme high standard of fitness levels and professionalism of our whole squad to come in and deliver that standard of performance.

Will Lowton get straight back in if fit ? Bardsley looks to offer a lot going forward.

For me the great news about the Bardsley introduction and performance is that there is no panic to rush Lowts back into the team, let the medical staff get him back to fitness and then we will have two players really pushing for one shirt and over the December fixtures that must surely be a bonus to have.

A good signing in the Grezza mould.Stoke are really missing him an Jon Walters our gain but please let's leave Charlie Adam out of and future signings

Perfect squad signing. Bags of quality & experience to know he'll do the job when he's called upon. Same with Walters IMO, they are perfect squad players who will not moan when they are not starting, will give 100% when called upon, have the experience and the intelligence to perform a specific type of role required for a particular match situation.

Yeah. We get that. I think he’s just posting the question generally, not questioning the team selection process. And it’s an answer I’d be interested in too. Does he revert back to lowton, who’s been great, or does the current incumbent of that position hold it until injury/poor performance?

For once, it’s a great position for us to be in. I would suggest LB is the same scenario.

It is a good question, one that could depend on if Bardsley signed on the understanding that he was cover for, or competition to Lowton?

Aye, having him as an option vs Darikwa, who was never going to be a PL player, speaks volumes

I liked it when he nutted the back of someones head and lay on the floor like he'd been knocked out, Mee came running over to see if he was alive and then Bardsley just jumped up, rubbed his eye brow a few times and then got on with it. Good lad :)
