Pope 8. Minus one for several slips and poor distribution. But handled extremely well.
Bardsley 7. Solid. Unspectcular.
Tarks 7. Not his best game. But plus one for clean sheet.
Mee 8. Played really well first game back.
Taylor 6. Think he needs to grow into it yet. Not at Wards level and definitely not the left winger people were screaming for
Arfield 6. Quiet today but worked hard.
Defour 8. Was surprised he came off thought he controlled it.
Cork 7. See bardsley.
Jbg 8. Thought he looked a real thret again. The driving run on his own deserved a goal.
Hendrick. 8. Much improved.
Wood 7. Holds and links it brilliantly. Minus 1 for poor finish.

Barnes 6. Only he could get the yellow he did. Stupidity.

Hendrick much better today. Can’t possibly be getting the lowest ratings.

Awful first half but we were decent in the second half and could and probably should have won it, trying to reflect that in the ratings:
Pope - 8 - so dominant in the air!
Bardsley 8 -MOM - can see why he is keeping Lowton out
Mee - 8 - great defensive performance today
Tarks 6 - some good play but the pattern of a moment of destructive behaviour in a game is troubling - I am referring to the elbow on Murray not the so called penalty
Taylor - 6 - can see the promise going forward but was really challenged defensively, albeit by a very good player
JBG - 7 - our main creative outlet
Cork -7 - solid
Defour - 7 - see Cork
Hendrick 6 - better when he dropped deeper when after Defour was subbed
Arfield - 7 - he is in a decent run of form
Wood - 5 - disappointing today
Barnes - 6 - stupid booking

It post what suits their agenda.
He was
Much brighter, at it and all round just sharper today.

Pope........8. another clean sheet
Bardsley...7
Tarks........7. Not a penalty but Murray had nowhere to go. Why give him the opportunity to dive.
Mee..........8
Taylor.......6
JBG..........7
Defour......7
Cork..........7
Arfield.......7
Hendrick...7
Wood........7

Barnes.......7
Vokes.........7

Another game where efficiency came before performance. Any away point is a good one so no complaints from me.

I think if someone thought he played well in attacking midfield they ought to see a real attacking midfielder play. Jeff is nothing more than an industrial centre mid, he has no creativity, flair or vision which are all attributes you need to play behind a centre forward.

When we went 442 however he was great, it was almost like someone had taken the chains off.

Pope 7 - Good handling/positioning as per but distribution was iffy in terms of direction, including one or two touchfinders + a couple of slips when striking the ball
Bardsley 7 - Very steady, reads things well and makes good decisions about when to get up close and when to drop off/jockey.
Tarkowski 6 - Below where he has established himself and got a bit rattled/rash once or twice, kept at it though.
Mee 8 (MOM) - Very good all round (headers, covering, tackles etc), especially given how much pressure we were under first half and he's been out for a couple of games.
Taylor 6 - Good prospect but inexperienced at this level & it showed once or twice when he gave the ball away needlessly. Good experience for him though & won't be as nervous next start.
Arfield 7 - Decent all round performance
Cork 8 - Pretty busy all through the game, more defensive H1 then more offensive as the game wore on, always available/helping out
Defour 7 - Not as much in thick of it today as Cork but made a few good interceptions and covers.
Gudmundsson 7 - Maybe should be 7 first half, nearer 8 second half as we got more into it & his influence grew.
Hendrick 6 - AS per JBG, maybe should be 6 first half, nearer 7 2nd.
Wood 6 - Kept at it and worked hard against their 2 CDs but, having done all that, he should've done better with what came his way later in the game. Needs to be a bit nastier sometimes.

Barnes 6 - Helped to change the momentum of the game with the extra man up front but a pretty daft early booking when there was nothing to be gained.

Pope 7 sort your boots out
Bardsley 7 solid
Tarkowski 7 was a pen stay on your feet
Mee 7 solid as ever. Plus great photo with my boy afters
Taylor 6 didnt look at the races
Arfield 7 steady eddie
Cork 8 picked up every loose ball
Defour 7 was creative but not his best
Gudmundsson 7 few good crosses. Nor enough
Hendrick 6 not at the level expected
Wood 7 did the tough stuff

Barnes 7 wound them up but stupid yellow but could have got himself sent off. Fortunately reigned himself in.

Pope 7 love the way he commands his box.
Bardsley 8 outstanding goal line clearance
Tarkowski 7 not sure about the penalty but dumbass use of the elbow
Mee 8 welcome back. Rock solid as ever and distribution continues to improve
Taylor 6 looked Ok defensively but caught out with the pace and intensity of the EPL at times. Nevertheless part of a unit that kept another clean sheet.
Arfield 7 maximum effort as usual and almost scored
Cork 8 put in a shift and tried to drive us forward
Defour 7 not as good on the creative side today
Gudmundsson 7 largely struggled to make an impact a bit peripheral and knocked about a bit,but great run from the half way line to force a save.
Hendrick 8* thought he played really well today. Held the ball well and distributed it very effectively. Easily our most creative offensive player.
Wood 6 fluffed his big chance and was bossed by BHA centre backs.

Barnes 7 would have liked to have seen him on earlier as he unsettles centre backs. Hilarious booking for Basher. Who says we don't play entertaining football? Ace ball to set Wood up.

Thought our frontmen had no effect on the game today and squandered chances. Hendrick for me gave the ball away constantly - not sure what game others were watching, wasn't at his best today in my opinion - I do agree he vastly improved when he dropped back into midfield. Solid performace at the back though, only marked Tarks down for losing his cool.

Pope 7 - Giid un general but poor footwear choice and ponderous distribution let him down a tad
Bardsley 8 Mom
Tarkowski 5 - Should get Ban undermines our progress
Mee 6 - Here's where I differ he took a touch too many too often, he wouldn't use Taylor except when he'd gotten into trouble and often took Taylors space and played him into trouble.
Taylor 6 - let down by Mee
Arfield 6 - poorish
Cork 7 - huffed and puffed
Defour 7 - tried
Gudmundsson 7 - tried
Hendrick 6 - triedish -1 for just kicking away possession late on
Wood 7 - tried in the hardest role

Barnes 8 - makes a difference

As I said on the matchday thread, how `wonderful` it is to watch us play way under par and still get a comfortable away point in the Premier League. Great times!!!!!

Pope 8 - I`m SO comfortable with him between the sticks. We aren`t missing Heaton at all!!!
Bardsley 7 - incredibly combative but stupidly tugged at a shirt which could have led to ANOTHER penalty!
Tarkowski 7 - would`ve been 8 but for his brain melt at the end of the 1st half. What a player he is though!!!!
Mee 8 (MOM) - Long was very unlucky to be replaced BUT Mee is the beating heart of our team and was excellent.
Taylor 6 - thought he was average but no doubts he will prove to be a fine replacement for Ward be it next season or the one after.

Gudmundsson 6 - looked to attack but was part of an incredibly subdued midfield. Still a bloody `un though!
Cork 6 - neat `n` tidy
Defour 6 - incredibly subdued.
Arfield 6 - kept the shape and helped out defensively but nowt going forward. He would be better in the advanced midfield role.

Hendrick 6 - dreadful 1st half but much improved after the substitution.

Wood 6 - not his day! Looks to have lost his physicality and missed two GOOD chances.

I would have given some 5s as we were definitely below par but seems inappropriate as we`re doing so brilliantly.

I thought he was AWOL first half, could easily have been hooked at half-time but much improved after `dropping back` into the midfield. IN MY OPINION. It`s all there, you can see it and when he puts it together he`s an excellent player but for me, too often drifts out of a game.

Tony - have you ever totalled-up all the scores and calculated the means and ranges for each player? Just noticed Hendrick has some good sores but then one down at 4!
Going back to the days of Tag at BGS.
