Might as well appeal it.
Won’t do any good though. Stupid.

No surprise. You cannot elbow someone like that. Would have been a red if the ref had seen it. Silly mistake

Stupid thing to do, can't argue with it in the slightest. More interesting to see if teams aim to get at him a little bit mentally like Murray evidently did going forward. Time for Long to step up again.

I don't think it would have been red and there was one similar against Brighton recently where the FA took no action. But it was a daft thing to do and I don't expect him to get away with it now.Inchy wrote:No surprise. You cannot elbow someone like that. Would have been a red if the ref had seen it. Silly mistake
Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
I think he should pay three months wages to Glenn Murray too.
It is 2017 after all, and digging someone in the ribs is a very, very serious, possibly career-threatening offence. I think it's time we awarded penalties too for the best dives anywhere on the pitch.
Thank goodness Dele Alli and Ashley Young will be able to ply their beautiful trade against us without the interference of someone objecting to their cheating. And if Ben Mee were to tackle them too hard I think we should ban him for a year.

Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
Do the FA spend all day Monday watching every single challenge in every single game. If so, there would very quickly be no games to watch as most players would be suspended. One good thing though, a lot of people on here will be pleased given some of the posts.
Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
Let’s not vilify and lambast Tarka too much here going on so out how he’s let the team down. He will know only too well himself how foolish he was and must be feeling gutted inside. Stupid error yes but balance that with the many many games this season when he has done the polar opposite to letting the side down.

Let's hope we have the same panel that let Lukaku off that double kick at a Brighton defender
Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
Hardly a surprise considering most highlight shows reviewed it in detail. Bizarre to suggest anyone would be pleased with a decision to ban Tarkowski though - unsurprised perhaps but that’s far from anyone suggesting that they “will be pleased”.Pimlico_Claret wrote:Do the FA spend all day Monday watching every single challenge in every single game. It was stupid of Tarkowski but the most frustrating thing is that had it been spotted, it would likely have been a yellow and therefore no ban.

If the ref wouldn't have sent him off then the ref would be wrong because it was clearly a red card offence
Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
Both seen though, so the silly rules prevent further action because that would look like the FA were saying a referee made a mistake and that can’t be possible!!
Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
Regardless of who else should be banned, Tarkowski has deserved that. Ridiculous decision despite the obvious frustration of his cheating opponent. Definitely a red card incident so he's lucky it didn't immediately cost the team. Needs to learn from it.

'...I don't think it would have been red...'
it would have been red if seen...elbowing in the chest is as serious as striking an opponent!
sadly a deserved ban - and I hope he isn't missed against Spurs, Huddersfield + Liverpool!

Good job we replaced Michael Keane in the summer, we could have ended up short otherwise.

You know what I am saying. Hopefully if anything good comes out of this, it should mean we will never have to watch Andy "elbow first" Carroll playing ever again, given his modus operandi.DCWat wrote:Hardly a surprise considering most highlight shows reviewed it in detail. Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
Appeal it, even though we know it will fail. The reason being it makes sure Mee has enough time to come back 100%, if he isn't so now. It also gets us nearer to the transfer window, were we need a new CB anyway - a good time for a new recruit to play while Tarks is out.

Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
It is more frustrating when the weekends yellows that should have been red are not reviewable.
An incorrect decision is an incorrect decision and should be corrected.
We should have been playing a Spurs team minus Kane and Alli.
Nevertheless Clarets power will see us win.

Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
Our poor approach to recruiting centre backs this summer could now have a significant impact. With Tarks and Ward likely to be out for a while, we could have just ONE defender on the bench over the hectic holiday period, assuming no other problems. It's even worse for wingers as we have none for the bench. Very odd for a 100m plus revenue budget.

We don't have many central defenders in the development squad either, which is a bit strange.summitclaret wrote:Our poor approach to recruiting centre backs this summer could now have a significant impact. i don't know how it works, but could we draft an under 23 year old player in to the squad immediately (if we had one good enough)?
Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
There are bad fouls in just about every game but it can still be an awful foul minus the intent for it to be so and this is usually the case. In this case the intent was obvious and could even be described as cowardly. Tarkowski took a calculated gamble that he would get away with it and it partly paid off because the referee is supposedly saying he did not witness it, but of course the camera showed it up all too clearly.

Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
Murray has played him like a piano. Hopefully this will turn out as a positive learning experience for Tarks.
I would expect Murray to be targeted in the home fixture and we get him sent off.
I admire Dyche for taking the moral high ground on such matters but we are paying the price and will continue to do so.

Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
The question needs to be asked as to why Murray isn't being charged with deceiving the referee too dont you think? after all, he kicks Tarks in the first challenge...
If Murray hadn't so blatantly cheated I dont believe that Tarks would've been so wound up by it. That along with the injustice of the Ramsey dive against Arsenal its no surprise that Tarks had a dig, for which he was wrong to do so, but still. All this retrospective action is all well and good as long as it applies to every team and every player, which it clearly does not.

Let's not forget our disciplinary record has been very good last few seasons - especially given how much defending we have to do and the amount of cheating going on.
Can't be too harsh on Tarks but he has made a mistake and it was pretty human / normal of him to be very wound up by that cheating 2 hat Murray.
It will have a serious impact on our chance of getting results in next few games given who we are playing but it could be a hell of a lot worse if we were a couple of points from relegation zone.

Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
Fair do’s I think. He deliberately elbowed him so it’s a fair cop. He will be gutted I’m sure as he will probably have to wait a while to get his place back due to Kevin long slotting in effortlessly.
It’s not just Murray that needs to be investigated. The “cheating” committee need to look at the other lad of theirs who tried to con a penalty.
I’m becoming increasingly disillusioned with football. It’s almost become non contact, and cheating is rife. There aren’t very many role models in the game - at least the sort of person I would consider to be a role model. It’s full of Nancy boy prima donnas. Trouble is, these sort of players have learned this from the previous generation. You only have to listen to ex players (pundits) explaining how ............ was “entitled” to go down because there was contact. We are lucky as our players, under instruction from our manager I would imagine, have a little more self respect, respect for the game and decent levels of integrity to allow themselves to blatantly cheat in the name of “professionalism”.

After being mugged for a penalty in both the Arsenal and then this. You can understand his frustration. No excusing at lashing out, its his mistake, but he'll learn from it. Sean Dyche will make sure of that.

**** happens. I feel sorry for Tarks and it's a big lesson for him.
The only reason Murray isn't being charged is the FA are a bunch of spineless tossers. It was a blatant a dive as Lanzinis and the other muppet from Brighton. The consistency stinks.

Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
Nice chilled xmas for tarky
Re: ARTICLE: Tarkowski charged by FA
Agree with all of that Bobinho.
The game has lost its ways and the rules and application of those rules is so inconsistent it's ridiculous.
Every pundit without exception thought Kane and Alli should have got red cards - and many referred to the potential serious damage that could have happened.
Yet f-uck all happens to either because the ref already gave them a yellow card - even though he got both very wrong.
At the same time the Tarks incident actually got little coverage and nobody would say the challenges were anywhere near as bad as Kane and Alli's.
Doesn't make Tarks challenge ok but the rules are definitely wrong at the moment. If they were changed Tarks would still be banned I think as it is too much of a grey area to judge how hard someone elbowed someone / how hurt they were etc. But at least the ones deserving bans would also get them
