Iconic cinematic images

Post by HiroshimaClaret » Tue Jan 02, 2018 9:45 am

JUST saw the Burnley result and `ouch!` but we are still a remarkable 7th.

The boy wanted to watch `Star Wars - A New Hope` and upon seeing the image below thought, `this HAS to be up there in the most memorable scenes` in film history. Looking for loads more to `cheer us up`.

I think Bambi with a gun would be more convincing than Travolta and his accomplice.

A bit of movie trivia for you. The woman's leg in the Graduate movie poster ad (see above) actually belongs to Dallas star Linda Gray. She was was paid $25 for shoot.

Same film but impossible to pick between these two. In fact the whole film is gret scene after great scene.

Not in the same league as a film but a very memorable scene.

My dad once met Celia Johnson.

He didn't know who she was, but she replied relieved that it was nice to meet someone who didn't know who she was.

If she was still alive, I wouldn't make the same mistake. Great actress, great film. My favourite B&W film.

For those who have seen the film Carnforth railway station is well worth a visit, for those that haven't. Watch it. Easily 60 years ahead of its time.

Has to be included.
If pushed, would have to say `Silence of the Lambs` is the best film I have ever seen in the cinema. I was 19 at the time (1991?) and drove to the cinema on my new driver`s license. I had to pull over after the film as my right foot wouldn`t stop shaking!!! A MESMERISING film. I think it won the Top 5 honours at the Oscars that year, which is incredibly unusual. Hannibal Lecter...what a character!

We could do with a bit of this, in the age of Trump and May. Oh that reminds me " Nuts in May " is another.
