Dyche to sign new 4 1/2 year contract next week
I've had it from an impeccable source that SD is sitting down to sign a new 4 and a half year contract next week.
The club wanted to reward him for everything he's done, and also secure him to a long deal in case any tempting jobs come up.
Great news.

Re: Dyche to sign new 4 1/2 year contract next week
Unlike a players contract, the one that managers sign aren't easy to enforce (gardening leave can get messy if it goes to court) so they can be a bit irrelevant if a manager wants to leave.

I heard the same thing as well. British Gas offered him a great deal. They threw in free electric for a year as well and he’s signing it next week.

I'm guessing as the info is from you he's not allowed to leave the British Gas contract early?

He is being sworn in as the Mayor of Proudsville tomorrow to prevent him
from ever leaving.
The chain of office is being delivered today and will round his neck tomorrow at
a ceremony to be held right in the centre of Proudsville.

So the fact that he signed a new rolling contract is irrelevant really as that’s short term compared to the new rumoured contract. Not even worth mentioning

For example, If at the end of the season Everton get rid of Big Sam and offer to double the wages of SD, he may decide to go. At that point we are basically powerless to stop him, as it the case with any managerial contract.

Unless the terms of the release clause involve paying up the remaining term of his contract, at which point we'll multiply his £40k a week by 208 and be due £8.3mSpijed wrote:No more than previously.

What fantastic news should it be true, this guy is amazing, hes no greedy b.....d like a lot of managers these days, he wont be making millions like the big club managers and we all know how tight our board of directors are so he wont be paid extravagant wages, he could earn lots more if he left Burnley, but he loves our club as much as our fans love him, i hope he puts pen to paper and if he should leave, i think his next job would be the replacement for Gareth Southgate. get signing that contract please Sean, utc

The rolling contract works just fine, keeps him on his toes, 4.5 years is a crazy length in terms of football.

Pretty sure he is paid very well by our board matching other clubs around us in this division and what they pay their managers.moaninclaret wrote:What fantastic news should it be true, this guy is amazing, hes no greedy b.....d like a lot of managers these days, he wont be making millions like the big club managers and we all know how tight our board of directors are so he wont be paid extravagant wages, he could earn lots more if he left Burnley, but he loves our club as much as our fans love him, i hope he puts pen to paper and if he should leave, i think his next job would be the replacement for Gareth Southgate. get signing that contract please Sean, utc

True but remember how he was treated at Watford so he could quite easily get sacked with a new board coming in just on a wim at another club.moaninclaret wrote:I do agree with that shp, just saying he could earn lots more elsewhere but yeh good point.
Not the sort of thing to forget, so with our local stable board over the recent years maybe he's looking at the big picture.
Re: Dyche to sign new 4 1/2 year contract next week
I'm inclined to agree. Dyche has and is doing a superb job for us but if we suffered seriously bad form for a long period and we needed a change we could be paying out £4 million plus in wages to him whilst employing another manager on maybe similiar money. If we are in the Championship that won't be great.ablueclaret wrote:The rolling contract works just fine, keeps him on his toes, 4.5 years is a crazy length in terms of football.
Re: Dyche to sign new 4 1/2 year contract next week
So another 4 and a half years of Dychball and the same pre and post match press conferences? Oh well, at least we will have the cup competitions to look forward t..... oh wait.
Re: Dyche to sign new 4 1/2 year contract next week
He’s surely got enough credit in the bank to allow for a slump - not that I could see being responsible for a slump of a significant amount of time.Blackrod wrote:I'm inclined to agree. I heard from my mum, who heard from someone in the hairdressers that part of the contract was use of a helicopter to get him up and down from Northampton more hassle free.

You probably haven't noticed how our brand of football has progressed under Dyche.
Sure we can play a long ball, but to say we play hoofball is an insult to Dyche and the players.

Wow, 4 in a row. Sorry I didn't have time to put a winky on
.
JT- I didn't say hoofball, i called it Dycheball, it's a unique brand we play, every opposition manager says we're unique, it's not a criticism, it works for us and i's given us the best days outs and seasons I could have ever dreamed off.
However "constant negativity" comment lost me. I have the upmost respect for Mr Dyche as a person and how he has transformed our football club.
