Re: ARTICLE: Sean’s no longer rolling at Burnley
Does this mean he can't leave? What is the advantage apart from for Dyche?
Re: ARTICLE: Sean’s no longer rolling at Burnley
Great to read all this Tony especially as it's fixed term
presumably with a large buy out clause?
Now hopefully all this settled we, that is Dyche can get on with the task
of establishing the club in the premiership - hopefully for many years to come.
It probably doesn't get much better.

I do think clubs like Watford should be looking at Burnley as an example, give someone a chance and let them hopefully when they leave, they leave a legacy and not a mess, well done board take a bow. Now Sean upwards and onwards.

I guess it means that if someone wants him, they will need to meet a higher level of compensation than they did before.Claret82 wrote:Does this mean he can't leave? What is the advantage apart from for Dyche?

It's difficult for other people (some of my friends) to understand our delight. Not that they don't admire SD because they do but the change of contract i.e. to a "standard" fixed-term contract and not a rolling one.
We have as strong a commitment as we'll ever have from one of the best managers in the land.

Salary reported as 3.5 million a year. Good for him, he deserves every penny

Sean Dyche is a fastidious man, the ultimate professional who leaves no stone unturned. You didn't need to be a fly on the wall to know that Sean during these contract negotiations didn't just look at the salary and sign on the dotted line. They will have discussed plans, proposals, objectives, projections, future developments a vision of how he and the club can progress together.
We haven't won for 7 games and we have just given the manager a 4 1/2 year contract.
Burnley Football Club continue to fart in the face of this obnoxious obsession this disgusting thirst this intolerable greed this demand for instant success that as shamefully beseiged the modern game. We do things different in these parts and I for one LOVE IT...

Makes it quite tricky to get rid when we get relegated!RocketLawnChair wrote:We haven't won for 7 games and we have just given the manager a 4 1/2 year contract.

“I look around football and it’s hard to find and it’s hard to build. We’ve built it and found it, probably in equal measure and I enjoy that side of it. There’s lots of work to be done, but I’m definitely in for the work to be done."
Probably my favourite ever Sean Dyche quote

Great news.
In a detailed write up of this story in The Times tomorrow, Matt Hughes reckons the release clause payment needed is 3.5m, which is surprising. I thought that was what it was on the rolling deal?
Also says we got Lennon on a free transfer.

Re: ARTICLE: Sean’s no longer rolling at Burnley
I'd just ignore all these quote salaries and release clauses - they are between the club, the manager and his advisors and I'm not sure they would be so willing to release them to the press. As usual there will be a lot of made up numbers.BobSykes wrote:Great news.

Very happy that Sean wants to stay at the Turf and hone his managerial skills as he takes the Clarets onwards. Should put an extra spring in everyone's step for the rest of the season.
