It's difficult for other people (some of my friends) to understand our delight. Not that they don't admire SD because they do but the change of contract i.e. to a "standard" fixed-term contract and not a rolling one.

You didn't need to be a fly on the wall to know that Sean during these contract negotiations didn't just look at the salary and sign on the dotted line. They will have discussed plans, proposals, objectives, projections, future developments a vision of how he and the club can progress together.

In a detailed write up of this story in The Times tomorrow, Matt Hughes reckons the release clause payment needed is 3.5m, which is surprising. I thought that was what it was on the rolling deal?

Also says we got Lennon on a free transfer.

I'd just ignore all these quote salaries and release clauses - they are between the club, the manager and his advisors and I'm not sure they would be so willing to release them to the press. As usual there will be a lot of made up numbers.
