Sunday racing
first of all....looks like the thread for yesterday was pulled by the moderators.
I didn't read anything said late last night as I have now blocked 2 or 3 members so I don't have to read their nonsense.
claretdj alerted me to the fact you could block people and all you need to do is click or hover ( can't remember which )
and select FOE.
so if you too are fed up of listening to them then thats all you need to do.
ironically they didn't even choose a losing day to talk their nonsense....from a personal point of view I made £217.33 yesterday
which would have been well over £600 but for the bet in Ireland falling at the last.
always good to hear from genuine posters without agendas so keep on posting....if I don't espond then I am just avoiding the
loonies......also good to have someone yesterday post that bookies offer that a few of ou took advantage of....please keep
posting anything helpful like that.
same as yesterday and standard practice for me I will be laying the win bets in running for a free bet.
all prices available on betfair at the time of doing the race....prices will have fluctuated.
1 10 TONTO'S SPIRIT 4.8
won this last year off a 7lb higher mark....won easily...trainer has put a 7lb claimer on to offset that
and he is likely to try and make all as last year.....trainer slack is a very shrewd operator....several in race would appear
to need further and may struggle to lay up.
1 40 BURRENBRIDGE HOTEL 2.82
won well last time, again with a front running effort....up 11lbs for that win but I think that is fair......interestingly sam twiston
davies rode this before and is on the other fav today....thats probably why the selection isn't clear fav....but the bet beat the
challow winner POETIC RHYTHM in a point to point....poetic rhythm won the chaallow off a mark of 147 and his rating will have risen for that
so you could argue that the bet is still very well handicapped.
2 10 JUST BOBBY 11
dont like the fancied runners and this was just given a quiet run on hurdle debut last time in a better race.....I like the idea of small stakes at a big price with plenty of in running value.
2 20 MOULIN A VENT 4.5
made a bad jump last time which ruined his chance but 8lb better off with the top horse jury duty who is quite a small horse for carrying big weights
in deep ground....the bets previous run when winning easily is very good form considering the ease of the win and what the 2nd horse has done since.
trainer meade has won this race several times and another very shrewd judge,,,,,he is thinking that blinkers first time may help as well.
3 10 NEVER UP 4.3........pacey type again who will love the ground ( big knee action )
3 20 MICK THE BOYO....8.2 EW 1234....won nicely last time despite being hampered...trainer in form....no weight.
3 40 ....CAMRON DE CHAILLAC EW 1234 6.8
trainer brings him north which is significant....as is the step up in trip as he struggled laying up over shorter when winning last time....excellent sire...utc.

Re: Sunday racing
The thread was pulled last night I guess because of a complaint about the deeply offensive language used by Happyclaret to two other posters. I'm not going to repeat the words he used.. suffice to say if they were used on other social media outlets or in the workplace there would be consequences.
We all disagree with each other on occasions but there is no place in the modern day world for those words

Re: Sunday racing
Posted on here to keep the racing thread as one ...Quick run through the early races at Sedgefield, never that keen on small fields when looking for "value".
SEDGEFIELD
13.10
Quite an open handicap despite the small field , with The New Pharoah and Black Art both recent winners
TONTOS SPIRIT .. Trading around 4.6 on betfair... Back down to his last winning mark and win this race last year , likes the course and drop back in trip should suit, even the form of his last of three at Wetherby is working out well, when perhaps he went off a tad too fast in front
REVERANT CUST .. Trading at 6.2 on betfair .. Gone up in the weights following his 2nd at Haydock, form better than it looks as he came from a long way back on a day when being close up was a big bonus , has contested better races than this .
13.40
Another small field in which chances good be given to all the runners .. Prairie Town hasn't looked a natural over fences but is well handicapped on his best hurdles form and the Tony Carroll stable is showing signs of coming out of its bad run, but trainer is 0-6 here .Burrenbridge Hotel was impressive last time but has gone up 11lbs , well beaten on his chase debut here .Bollin Ace loves the course but yet to run over fences .which leaves Beau Bay who has run in better class and trainer 5-15 ( 10 places ) here , nagging doubt about the number of seconds the horse has .. A race to watch I think !!
14.10
Another small field race with several runners having chances
AARON LAD . Trading at 3.8 on Betfair .. would go very close on some of his Irish hurdles form and showed first glimpses of that when beaten by Beaten a long way by Black Ops( ran 2nd at Cheltenham yesterday ) with the useful Colonial Lad 2nd, and as mentioned trainer us 5/15 with runners here

Re: Sunday racing
If he hadn't run so badly last time, his win over Monbeg Notorious ( won Thyestes chase comfortably last week) he would probably have started fav . So if you discount that last run you could say he represents a bit of value . But up against best sone promisng types and has to reverse form with Jury Duty...and Noel Meade is 0/18 with his runners.. too many ifs so not for me ..Darnhill Claret wrote:I also like MOULIN A VENT in the 2-20.

Not a great start to the day with those tipped not even in the running. I will complete breakdown of the outcome of the horses that have been tipped as I did yesterday

Interesting stats .. but as Noel Meade said at the beginning of the season he hasn't got the horses he used to have and the Balance of power in the Irish trading ranks has shifted away from him .. no no really relevant anymorehappyclaret17 wrote:this is his record in the race

I'm quite happy with my results and would be happy for them to be posted since I stared on here . Showing a level stakes profit .. hope you include the 3 winners at Kempton last night . Just a shame Happys use of those disgusting words got the thread deleted
Re: Sunday racing
Absolutely!! They are both as hit and miss as each other. I initially aimed my feedback towards Happy as posters were acting like he was Tom Pepper on Friday night. He is flakey at best and if you follow all of his tips you would be out of pocket. Flying Bolt is doing no better!Quickenthetempo wrote:Is that for both tipsters?

MOULIN A VANT jumped like a pig again....not sure what they will do with him now....I would bring him back to hurdles I think....the horse has a big engine but lost tons of energy with all those poor jumps.

Think if you check all my posts . Including the deleted Saturday thread .. I ain't doing that bad .. and are streets ahead of happy .. who even when he posts 2 winners from 18 . Comes on and says he's made over £200 . After using abusive language to other posters pointing out his results.
But I respect your opinion . And won't censor you as Happy is encouraging people to do . Didn't realise he was the arbitor of who could and couldn't post on the racing threads

Playground stuff on here...... FFS!
Leave folk to decide who's tips they want to follow, and stop trying to score points on whether you'd have lost money or not.
I have made a profit over the last 12 months following Happy and his tips, for that I thank him very much. I've also followed Flyingbolt with his tips and I also thank him for sharing his info/knowledge.
At the end of the day, I am the one who decides where to place my money and nobody twists my arm, so if I lose then I only have myself to blame!!
Stop whinging and read the thread if you appreciate both posters sharing their tips, if not go do one and spoil another thread......... and that comment is aimed at you MRG.

SEDGEFIELD
15.40
WAZOWSKI.. trading at 4.0.. big fan of this horse ..One eyed .. limited ability but tries his heart out .. so a bit of sentiment in selecting him
CAMRON DE CHAILLAC.. Trading at 6.4 on betfair .. again wears the visor , useful claimer on board and looks value at current odds
16.10
PRINCESS MONA .. Trading at 3.5 on Betfair.. dropping down the weights and has run in better class .. stable in form
SIMPLE BUSINESS.. Trading at 8.00 on Betfair .. moved stables from Charlie Longsdon to Sam England .. Trainer does well with " cast offs " and has a decent record here ..won't take much to win this weak mares race

Re: Sunday racing
Not a bad end to the day at Sedgefield where the racing was pretty low grade fare ...wouldn't give up completely on Simply Business , travelled well and wasn't given a hard ride when it was clear she had not chance , very cheap purchase , and her sire Marsco Sorrento ( who died last year) also sired Pineau De Re the grand national winner .. clearly of limited ability but might pick up a little race somewhere .
Tony Carroll continues his stable resurgance that's now 3 from last 7 runners . Has quite a few entries next week( old favourite Beau Minstral runs in the first a wolver tomorrow) so might be worth a look them.
More competitive racing tomorrow

I wasn't referring to that word and you well know it .. the other word he used was disgusting and offensive . And if you think its it's weird to object to it, you want to speak to some of the parents whose children are afflicted by it.Bordeauxclaret wrote:He told someone to stop being a d@@k. Re: Sunday racing
I'm not repeating it .. but obviously he thinks his it's acceptable , but that's why the thread was closed , his using that word .. then he says he didn't read some of the posts as he'd blocked users .. knowing full well his disgusting use of those word were the reason.
But feel feel to defend the indefensible
Whatever you think of my posts I've always been polite and never abused other posters in that way . If you think that's me being weird then fine . Your entitled to your opinion and I respect it

Re: Sunday racing
there will be early price bets tomorrow which will be posted later.....to get early prices.....just received a text saying that I have been accused of using disgusting language on the forum last night....I am sure the mods will have record of this so could someone contact them on my behalf please...if it turns out that I did then this will be my last post.....cannot remember exactly what was said but it certainly would not have been deeply offensive as has been quoted.

The word you used .. you or others might not find offensive , but many would .. if you didn't understand what you were saying or the meaning of the word you shouldn't have used it. But I assure you it is offensive to many .. and to use it as flippantly as you did would be deeply offensive to any with family members suffering from such an affliction.
It would not be acceptable to use the word in respect of anyone in my work place . And I would suffer disciplinary action if I did .. maybe you have been brought up differently or don't respect other people's feelings .. I dontt know you so only you can answer that

Please start your own threads and leave happys alone, you say you come in peace but seem to have an agenda not an opinion.

No agenda .. I'm not the one trying to censor other people's views or use insulting language .. I post my views and comment occasionally on others .. Didn't know threads had ownership, and certain posters were restricted from them . It is a message board. Surely the important thing is to have diverse views and debate .. and respect for others
If you really want things all your own way then don't post on here

Re: Sunday racing
here is the deal flyingbolt....you have just defamed my character online...I take this very seriously indeed...I am a businessman of extremely good character....now please type the word I posted that was GROSSLY offensive as you have indicated and let fellow posters decide....you can leave it online for 1 hour then delete....if this isn't brought to a close tonight I will be taking it further tomorrow.

Re: Sunday racing
It is rather odd,
Somebody signs up to a football message board, to purely talk racing.
Happy is on here as a claret first, and a tipster second, gaining respect along the way over a period of time.
Flyingbolt...You may be a decent guy, but the introduction of yourself on this board you've clearly made yourself look like a bell end.

There really isn’t any need to keep pecking away, if this was a conversation in a pub I would have stopped listening to you ages ago, then again I doubt you’d get the message when you’re sat on your own.

The word you used is a reference to those suffering from iodine deficiency and thankfully it is an affliction that has largely been eradicatied . To give some background to My feelings I did some volunteer work in Asia ( mainly Nepal) in the 80's and saw some sufferers of this which had a big impact on me .Ive not heard this word used for ages now and nor should it be
I'm not doubting your character and suspect you didn't realise what you were saying when you used the word . But it certainly hit home to me . It's a word that shouldn't be used in any context not least if flippantly on a message board .

Was a season ticket holder for years in the days of jimmy mullen , inchy Heath, John ward etc . And sponsored the likes of David Eyres Andy Cooke and Paul Smith ( great left foot )
So I'm definitely a claret first but passionate about my horse racing too

Re: Sunday racing
I really don't have a clue why this keeps happening. I've followed happys tips for a few years, and enjoy having a few quid on his selections. He has never asked for anything in return, If it loses then it loses. Why people feel the need to point out his losses is beyond me. If you don't want to follow his tips then don't. If you completely disagree with his selections then start your own thread, I don't see many people backing you up on this one, just blocking you.

Jeez - it's not X factor.
You don't need a back story.
Let's not distract from your real intentions which are clearly to ruin the thread and get in little digs
