Bournemouth v Spurs

Post by JimmyRobbo » Sun Mar 11, 2018 5:25 pm

Spuds up to their tricks once again....

Alli throwing himself to the ground. Rose dives pretending he may never walk again. Dubious dive (but possible penalty akin to Long tackle) by Song (or whatever he's called).

Irritating.

Is Defoe mainly used as an impact player from the bench nowadays?

Impressive..

But we all know ours wasn't offside really.

Well that went wrong very quickly for a Howe defence...

Surprisingly.

Well that all ended poorly for Bournemouth. I assume that scrap of paper Eddie sent on wasn't up to much.

Pity as I'm starting to dislike Spurs after their repeated diving this season. I also find Alli and Rose very easy to dislike.

Wasn't Rose the one who signed a new contract and then complained about his wages less than a year later?

When you look at Alli play I think he is more sinned against then sins.

Although Aurier put in the cross for Alli's goal, the crossing from both their full backs was pretty awful. I don't see anything in Aurier that puts him ahead of Trippier.

Re the Spurs full backs: I thought Rose had a poor game today. Aurier at least had one good cross and then nabbed a goal.
The early Bournemouth goal saw Rose getting well skinned on the outside then Aurier jumping under the subsequent cross to leave Stan with a goal. At least Aurier had a good cross for the Ali goal and scored with the header when he swapped wings. Rose put in some woeful crosses.
Rose looked very decent before he had the longish-term injury he had recently (and the beggar got that goal against us at WHL when we lost 2-1) but Davies looks a better bet at LB now. Trips is clearly a better crosser /passer than Aurier and I think most Spuds fans see him as the number one RB.
I think Son is outshining Ali now, Ali probably hates that. Amusingly, I think he's become a victim of his own (diving) reputation- a couple of times today he seemed to be fowled but nothing given.
