Re: Barnes interview
Goes from strength to strength, some doubted his ability as a PL striker, has proved many wrong this season, a central defender's nightmare, keep it up Ash.

How long did it take you to work that one out?IanMcL wrote:A player who wants to play for us and do his best.
Your technical analysis is fascinating.
Re: Barnes interview
Did not think he will come back fitter and stronger from the ACL injury and be the player he is. But he has done it. Glad he signed a three year contract

Why abuse another Claret for no purpose?fidelcastro wrote:How long did it take you to work that one out?

As kick off is almost upon us and with valuable points at stake from Saturday, signing late is idiotic.
Lost Keane at a bad time too. Ideally all the preperation should be done in good time , ours looks shoddy and amateurish again.
We aren't going to lash out millions on some mystery striker, so the chance of adding to the squad is obviously there, but it will be rushed and clumsy.
We stay up, remarkably, then seem to want to model ourselves on a mid table championship set up.

unlike the majority on here, i happily admit my errors, i posted about narrow mindedness only yesterday, I am an honest and opinionated claret, you seem like a dark, skulking pimp, who has little to offer except sneaky irrelevance, i pity your invalid and crappy research. waste of hours on your part.

Until you wrote this comment I had completely forgotten about his ACL, great tribute to the player, the medical staff and coaching staff he has come back the way he has.ranjexel wrote:Did not think he will come back fitter and stronger from the ACL injury and be the player he is. Re: Barnes interview
Ash The Bash wasn't a first choice striker in the championship for us. How he has blossomed recently. That is the beauty of sport. He has scored some belters this season. Go Ashley!

Exactly.
Re: Barnes interview
I've been critical of Barnes but I must say lately he's been sensational, the Everton game was the best I've seen him play. He used to be a frustrating player to watch especially when the decisions didn't go his way but I like the little ruthless streak he's developed which he's always shown signs of.

Re: Barnes interview
Great to see him looking so relaxed and confident. Have always thought he was a better footballer than some people gave him credit for; it was just that he wasn't getting great service and there was often very little support because we could not commit too many players forward. Now we have evolved into a really decent PL team he is taking full advantage.
