Missed a trick in 16/17 in not doing a 25 years on version of the 91/92 home shirt.

Norwich did a take on their version for their third kit

Hoping the away kit isn't black.

I've never been a massive fan of the yellow kits but would be fully behind a retro re-make.

I personally like the white away kits with a splash of claret & blue. Or the blue always kits with claret and white. Sticking with a main feature of claret & blue would benefit brand recognition if we're to grow outside the boundaries of our town.

What about a 3rd kit for the Europa League campaign?

IF we do qualify for Europe, I think it’s a UEFA stipulation that three kits are required.

Black chap got on the bus in Malta today. Wearing a ManU shirt with Alexis 7 on the back.

Bang up to date and already out of favour in Manchester!

I do think having a vote is a decent idea though.
Yeah, I seem to remember it being rigged. Easy enough to do these days, and quick, too, so as not to impact on sales, etc. Maybe I should tweet someone at the club? If so, who?

The designs will have been chosen for next season by now.

Away night matches should always be white or yellow. Even with modern floodlighting they are just so easy to see.

That Norwich shirt is cool, but ruined by the big square white box for the sponsor.

Although I’ve been tipped off that it is black I’d still be amazed given how poorly the black kit sold in 2014/15.

More a 90’s theme from what I’ve seen.

The 80’s styles were far nicer, less rave scene, psychedelic neons!!

I remember Dave Baldwin talking about home and away kits and switching them between ones that they know will be popular and ones that won’t.

I can’t recall quite how he phrased it but it made some sense at the time. He did similar when at City - they had some horrors although it’s difficult to get much nice from claret and amber.

O/T but is there any of the Puma training kit left in the club shop or did it all go in the flash sale they held previously?

In any case, we are still with Puma next season. Just hope the rumour I've heard that the away kit could be black is just that, a rumour.
I hope it is. This seasons aside, best away kit in years.

Well the black one definitely did. I bought three on top of another one bought as a gift for myself after having to give them away to mates abroad who loved it.

Very nice kit, IMO.

I worked as marketing manager at Genesis Sports for two years until last year and really enjoyed my time there, especially with me being a life long Burnley season ticket holder. Some great people working there. I understand the current Puma kit deal ends next season, so one more left after this season. I would think negotiatons are ongoing now for the 19/20 season onwards but it's up to the club and would depend on what other kit manufacturers offer up commercially. For the record, Puma own Genesis Sports and use Puma selected factories and designs drawn up by Puma. These designs are then offered to the club who are given a number of creative options using Pumas latest design template. Pretty much the same as how other brands work with pro clubs. So for example, the circle pattern on the sleeves appears on most "Puma" pro club designs on the current season kits - Leicester, Wolves, Burnley, Reading, etc.. Genesis handle this with the clubs and distribute pro kits to the club shops and work with the commercial teams to develop the designs. It's entirely up to the club if they want a bespoke kit or not. Arsenal for example, Dortmund another, are bespoke kits and as a few previous posters have said in this thread they carry a premium and depend on shirt sales potential. As a clarets fan myself I agree with most posts the current home and away shirt look great though I'd prefer white shorts for our home kit. I also know first hand that Sean Dyche gets involved with choosing the kits, along with the commercial and retail team.

To be honest, every time I’ve bought a shirt when we’ve been in the PL, we’ve been relegated. So I’m considering not getting one again!

Regardless of how many you bought, the sales figures were very low.

Has something changed in last couple of years with the Genesis/Puma relationship? I’m sure someone posted something about it on here.

I only bought one at the end of season sale and that was only to use at the gym - and tbh I’ve hardly worn it for that

I've found the answer to my own question regarding the Genesis/Puma relationship by doing a search. Having passed through references to Phil Collins & Peter Gabriel I found a post from rishtonclaret in May last year when he confirmed that Genesis had been bought out by Puma in 2016.

You'd think we'd have more black with amber away strips considering they were our original colours. Didn't we have one for a third kit when we randomly celebrated our 120 year anniversary in 2002?

Exactly - black goes back longer than pretty much most of our colours. Claret and yellow included!!!

A colour strongly associated with us is black. And if its good enough for New Zealand its good enough for us. Probably a spin on that actually with Wood promoting it! 8-) 8-)

It was more like a dirty grey colour and looked like a pyjama top with a far too wide neck.
Done correctly I like black football shirts

An away kit should have some association with the club and club colours in my opinion. That means white, yellow or blue are acceptable but black and tinfoil silver are not.

Except we wore black before claret and even with claret.

We should defo bring back that pink, white and navy kit from 1894/5.

Not even the most crusty Burnley fan would be anti-gay surrogacy decked out in that zesty little number.
