Chopping them onions whilst leaving Gresty Rd in 1987 was a bad idea.

Nothing to do with us being dead and buried, or so we thought.

I cried tears of joy at the final whistle of the Luton Home game during Cotterills horrendous run.

When the clarets walked out of the tunnel for the sherpa van final ( because in those days , I thought I'd never see Burnley at Wembley ) .

I used to shed tears regularly a few seasons ago due to a ———— who had such bad B.O. that we used to all speak through our noses, it was so bad that I had spew in my mouth a couple of times. It all came to a head on a night game when we were losing 1-0 at half time & a proper meat head got hold of him & threatened to throw him of the top tier if he did not have a wash & use some arm pit spray, we smiled at that one.

I have and I have never lived it down...

I had just dumped my first girlfriend and I must have been 20, we played Blackburn at the turf and I can't remember the circumstances, but we drew 1-1. So we didn't even lose!

Anyway I got out of the stadium I wasn't sobbing but clearly crying (drink may have been involved) so my brothers consoling me and if that isn't bad enough the telegraph take a picture and it was in the paper the day later.

I can see the funny side of it now but lets be honest anyone who knows isn't going to let me forget it

When Wimbledon dumped us out of the cup when they were non league and we were good.

We battered them for 89 ******** minutes and that ******* keeper Dickie Guy saved/stopped every ******** thing.

They had one break away and ******** scored - I cried and also retched and nearly vommed.

I was about 9 though!

Nearly every single game when John Bond was manager, watching him dismantle our club was very painful.

Not quite, but I found a tear in my eye when Spurs knocked us out of the League Cup Semi in 2009. I think that game was the most dramatic emotional experience I've ever had at a football game.

Hillsborough '74 was the first and Wigan home in 2015 was the only other time I believe.

As a young boy stood at front of Longside when it kicked off with the away fan in there. I was in the middle of it and terrified.

I properly cried on the Bee Hole End when Leighton James converted an injury time penalty against Torquay for a 2-2 draw towards the end of the Orient season. If we’d lost that game we might well have ended up going down. It was getting very serious, James was composure personified. I guess they were tears of relief. I was 13. Orient was a day of celebration compared to that.
Chelsea away in the cup run, tears of joy and pleasure at being alive. And a tear of pride vs Tottenham at home, the ultimate ‘nearly’ moment.
I was beside myself as a drunk 17-year-old after England’s semi-final in 1990 against Germany, crying in the pub like a wuss. Really felt the pain of missing a once in a lifetime experience, and we’ve never been anywhere near it since, so a bit more justified looking back!

Heck, I think I've got 4!

1) When Stan left - seeing him in floods of tears as he walked round the Turf definitely brought a tear to my eye!
2) Spurs 09 - I do, however, blame my (at the time) 10 year old son. When we conceded in ET he burst in to tears and I felt absolutely gutted for him
3) Wembley 09 - as posters above have said, I never thought I'd see Burnley in the PL and the final whistle brought such emotions and, in total honesty, disbelief we'd managed to do it
4) The last one wasn't to do with on the pitch - it was Huddersfield away (I think when we lost 2-1 and Duff got sent off) but a young Burnley fan had died leading up to the game and a picture of him was put on the screen behind us. My youngest son was the same age and it really affected me when I saw the photo - I gave my son a big hug and shed a few tears.

Only once - the moment that Wade scored at Wembley in 2009. Wasn't expecting it. The ball hit the net and the tears flowed. Never happened before, never since.

Did well up a little, though, listening to the radio on a long drive when we beat Wigan to get promoted for the first time under Dyche.

Wembley 2009 I was very close, l think my Dad had a tear in his eye. I was more pleased for him, because having watched Burnley for forty odd years l know he thought he would never see top flight football again. What a day that was. I remember being told off by a policeman for sitting on the wall of the old paddock (where the Bob Lord is now) with my legs dangling over onto the playing side. I was so afraid of the police then it brought me to tears. I was probably about six or so.

The first time the Republic ( Irish ) played at Croke Park . I feel I had spent a life time listening to the GAA telling anyone who would listen that they would never play foreign games there . As soon as the players came out and the drum roll I was off all the way through the anthems .
Fair play to me mate never said a word about .
Ireland played there 11 times I never missed a game and now I never want to go anywhere near that place ever again .

Twice I think. Once with joy after the Orient game and once on the coach steps after the '74 semi-final defeat to Newcastle (that obviously wasn't with joy - I hated Malcolm Macdonald).

Probably Stans last game. Not because of Stan but because Id just seen Glen Little for the last time for Burnley. I was a young lad and he was my hero. Then years later when we sang Super Glen at Reading almost brought me to tears.
