Claretforever wrote:Why are you so bothered about this? I know two people who didn’t go on saturday because both had their kids at kids parties (separate parties in different towns). That was 3 adults and 5 kids missing. So if I know 8 people, I’m sure others know people. Parties do tend to be at weekends, but that’s just one reason.
Mine would pick a party over football any day of the weak at that age, unfortunately. They grow out of it, but again, just one reason which I’m sure you’ll labour on after the Bournemouth game. I certainly wouldn’t be obsessed with the family stand like you’re being really, it’ll happen at all clubs to an extent.
The only good reason could be people using non-existent kids/no longer attending/not at the right age to keep their adult ticket in there?
He is also ignoring the fact that there were tickets available for every block in the stand as late as Saturday afternoon, but that won't suit his agenda driven nonsense.

Claretmatt4 wrote:Not blaming the fans one bit, but in this day and age there should be a way of linking an empty seat to a fan surely.
If you know you can't attend you surrender your seat, then those who will attend can get on and nobody misses out.
A system such as that run by the Royal Albert Hall, for 'member' tickets, would be ideal.

He does have an unhealthy obesssion with empty seats. Maybe the club could ask parents/uncles/aunties etc to provide a written explanation of why children are missing the game to pass on!?

Know of people who would be glad of using any freed up seats, not in corners or front rows but any others

If we can’t attend a match, as we couldn’t last Saturday, we always give our tickets to someone else. That’s the obvious solution in most cases...

Someone else started a thread about the empty seats, and I responded that time as I was that surprised at how many there were.
Reasons were given that it was because it was a school night and a long trip for southern fans, so I thought a Saturday game would be a good comparison. As it was, there were lots of empty seats again.
These are prime seats being taken up by consistently non-attending fans, and we saw in the deleted thread that there are people who claim free tickets with no intention of using them.
The stadium map on the ticket site always shows these areas as just having single seats available, no use if a dad wants to take their kids in the Family area.

So you know for a fact it’s the same people who don’t attend each match then?

Lots of people in previous threads were talking about a lack of premium seats. No one wants to sit on the front row of the JML or JHL, it's a crap view. The seats in the Jimmy Mac Upper are the exact type of premium seats we're talking about.
Criminal that they're wasted like this.

Perhaps we could sell them to Lincoln?

Not so easy if they are under 12s, and still not that easy if they are any other type of concession.

Didn't dare post after last time!
Its not a dig at those not attending but a dig at a system where those seats are left unfilled. If I'm not able to attend i give my ST card to a friend so my seat isn't wasted, but not everyone can do this.
Surely a system must exist where you can contact the club to say 'seats x y and z have been given up for this match as I cant attend.' please sell them on.
If it was me I wouldn't even be arsed if I didn't get money back but that would also be a good gesture!
Its an observation of the system, not the attendance habits.

I don’t know as it doesn’t really bother me. I’ll start taking photos from now on though to keep check.

Not sure why the club would do this - unless the match is a sell-out.
They've already been paid for this seat, so why re-sell it when they have others available.

What makes me laugh about these empty seats or leaving early threads is that people feel compelled to tell the whinging bitches why they couldn't make It or left. Well I wont be on against Bournemouth and the reason is none of your lots ******* business.

But they don't have others available if the others you want to be available are two or dare I say it, three seats remotely near each other in the family stand.
We are a fortnight away from the Bournemouth game, and there are no two seats available together in the entire JMU. The club will not sell adult and child tickets which are not together.
