Most boring last day ever?
Most boring last day ever?
Even Sky are going to have trouble drumming up any excitement for a final day of the season where the only thing up for grabs is fourth place.

Just how I like it. We still have lots to look forward to. Short break, World Cup and transfer window. Europa League, I said EUROPA LEAGUE ....

I'm happy with the way things have turned out.
Derby bottling it would be excellent but I'm fifty quid better off if they do get promoted so I'm not fussed really.

Re: Most boring last day ever?
On 9th May 1987, the 1st Division table was so complete and settled that Radio 2 didn't even broadcast a top game - they went to some 4th division game instead. Orient were playing, I think ...

Re: Most boring last day ever?
Yes but what a great final day for us.
A few beers, a lap of honour and not caring what score it finishes.
Should be one great big celebration of a fantastic season.

I didn't attend the Orient game as I was only 6 but this weekend must be it's polar opposite in terms of tensiondsr wrote:Yes, just like 9th May 1987!(Except for the "not caring what score" and "fantastic season" bits!)

Re: Most boring last day ever?
Normally don't bother with any end of season dead rubber games. I hate non competitive games so I don't attend friendliest any more either. Looking forward to this dead rubber though.

Wasn't it equally as boring last season? I'm sure everything had been decided.
Hull, Middlesborough and Sunderland were all down.

Re: Most boring last day ever?
We just have to hope that Swansea are 4-0 up at half time and Southampton are 0-5 down. That would make an interesting second half. But tbh we are 7th so it can be as boring as it wants to be , we have had an incredible year UTC

Re: Most boring last day ever?
Only missed a couple of games this season and it's been fantastic and the best in my lifetime.
But at the very end my 12 year old has gone and got shingles and school won't have him in case he spreads chicken pox to other kids so the head teacher suggested yesterday that we should to take him away for a few days.
So we are going to Egypt tomorrow afternoon and I will miss the Clarets finale.
Eli would have been impressed!

Wow! I know shingles is very infectious, but I’m sure the Lakes would’ve done!tybfc wrote:Only missed a couple of games this season and it's been fantastic and the best in my lifetime.

It's going to be 11 degrees in The Lakes tomorrow. It's 38 in Egypt and the all inclusive bar opens from 9am until midnightmartin_p wrote:Wow! I know shingles is very infectious, but I’m sure the Lakes would’ve done!

The hotel has a water park with 50 slides so I doubt I will see much of the bar keeping an eye on him all day.

Good idea from the headmaster is that! Go and pass it on to a plane full of folk off on holiday!tybfc wrote:Only missed a couple of games this season and it's been fantastic and the best in my lifetime.

I guess sky will show the Liverpool and Chelsea games, but even that will be hard too sell as Liverpool should win fairly comfortably.

The thing is, Shingles feels just like sunburn so would be very confusing if you got it in a hot country.
