Just being reported that former Aston Villa & Bolton player Jlloyd Samuel has been killed in a car crash. He was 37.

The former Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers defender Jlloyd Samuel died in a car crash on Tuesday morning, the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association have announced.

“We’ve received some terrible news that former national defender and Ex-Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers player Jlloyd Samuel died in a car crash this morning in England,” a statement read.

“According to reports, Jlloyd was returning home after dropping his kids off to school and collided with an oncoming vehicle,” it added. “The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association and his former national teammates at this time extends deepest condolences to his family members both in the UK and here in Trinidad and Tobago.”

POLICE fire and an air ambulance were sent to the scene of a two-vehicle crash in West Lane, High Legh, this morning.
Eyewitnesses said the incident involved a Range Rover, which burst into flames, and a truck which ended up on its side.
One eyewitness said he was on the scene within minutes of the crash occurring and smashed the windows of the blazing vehicle in an attempt to get the occupant out.
He said: “I could even see in. The fire was too bad. I was too late.”
Emergency services were soon at the scene and the road was closed. The accident was said to be close to the junction with Kay Lane.
Police advised motorists to avoid the Lymm and High Legh areas. They said there were road closures in force close to the junctions with the A56 at Lymm and the A50 at High Legh while emergency services were still at the scene.
Fire crews from Stockton Heath went to the scene and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze using two hose reel jets.

The original statement didn't say where he was killed, and when the statement was issued by the T&T FA, I put 2 and 2 together and assumed that he had retired back to his homeland. My mistake.
