You seem to confuse the suitability of a player for Burnley FC and “slagging“ off the same player.

8 goals. 7 assists. More than any of our midfielders produced. More goals AND assists from midfield than our beloged Jay Rod bagged.

In fact he set up as many as Jay scored. And then scored more than him on top of that. Yet people think shaqiri is crap, fat and slow and offers less value than jay who will score more.

If we dont start to look at these type of quality players then it will only be a matter of time that we start to undo
We have an aging squad really we have some good players coming back into pre season training but hope we dont rest on our laurels because of this
Three quality players and I would be more than happy

Spot on. But what is very relevant is that there is no suggestion that we are going to try to sign him. There has been 6 pages on this thread arguing about a player we will not getKRBFC wrote:Just give over, Shaqiri has quality, stop waffling crap to discredit him, first he's a fat ass then it's irrelevant when it's proven he's not, just accept he's a good player.

Play like he did last night on a regular basis then only Defour could be considered to have anywhere near the same ability.

“I didn’t expect them to be champions but I wanted to see the club going forward – that to me was the most important thing,” he said. “When I came to Stoke, I expected them to be moving forward, every year getting better, but it’s not been like this.
“When I came here, the coach said he wanted to build a team around me and to progress the team, maybe get into Europe. Look at Burnley now – they’re going for sixth or seventh place, which is surprising.
“It’s sometimes difficult to accept but I give everything to my club and signed a long contract here so I try to give my best performance every weekend and help my team-mates to achieve something.”

There's 6 pages on Jay Rodriguez (with Dawson thrown in) and we probably won't sign them either

Southampton bid £12m, so that Mark Hughes can build a team around him?KRBFC wrote: “When I came here, the coach (Mark Hughes) said he wanted to build a team around me and to progress the team, maybe get into Europe.”
That would make for some interesting contract negotiations.
It took Hughes 5 years to break down Stoke and secure a return to the Championship. With a solid base to build on, plenty of cash to spend and a young squad containing some good players it might take him a bit longer to devastate Southampton.
I'm confident he can do it though.
Re: Shaquiri £12 million bid from Southampton
I don't understand a word of what you just said but my comment you quoted was a quote from an interview that Shaqiri did. He's talking about when he joined Stoke, the manager of Stoke then was Mark Hughes. I have absolutely no idea what Southampton have to do with Shaqiri joining Stoke in 2015? Did Southampton bid for him in 2015 but he went to Stoke instead?Long Time Lurker wrote:Southampton bid £12m, so that Mark Hughes can build a team around him?

He is saying he thinks Hughes will slowly lead Saints to relegation like he did with Stoke and signing this guy will be the start of it - like it was at Stoke.

I honestly wouldn't want this fella at the Turf. Looks like he carries a massive chip on his shoulder and a sulker.
He would not be the type of individual that Dyche goes for

From the post you just made on the other thread I suspect you don’t want him at Burnley for a couple of other reasons !

Defour looked like he had a few issues before he joined us, likewise Aaron Lennon.Top Claret wrote:I honestly wouldn't want this fella at the Turf. Looks like he carries a massive chip on his shoulder and a sulker.

Re: Shaquiri £12 million bid from Southampton
I quoted that section of your post because it was Shaquiri commenting on how Hughes had made a promise to him when he signed for Stoke and he failed to deliver on that promise. Nothing more.KRBFC wrote:but Shaqiri isn't moving to Southampton yet and why did he quote me to say that?
In my eyes, if you make an agreement with someone you keep it. If they fail to hold up their end of the bargain then it doesn't bode well for their ability to honour any future agreements. Sometimes the inability to follow through can be down to unforeseen circumstances, an over estimation of their worth and their inability to do what they have promised to do or it could be about integrity and keeping their word.
So the general idea of Shaquiri jumping to join Hughes at Southampton seems a little strange.
I wasn't implying that you think he will join or that you don't think he will join, that it is a good idea or a bad idea for him to join. You just provided a direct quote from Shaquiri that bore relevance to my own independent observation.
My apologies for any distress that caused you.

Interesting from Souness after game. Said he’s a good player when you’ve got the ball and are pushing forward.
He’s useless to you if you are not dominating the ball.
