Looked like a good offside call in real time, so fair play to the linesman, but clearly played back by the german, so fair play to VAR.

And allows penalties to be given when it's not handball (Iran)
And allows players to be wrestled to the ground and not given (England and Serbia)
And allows players to elbow others but only get a yellow (Ronaldo)
Yeah, it's the best thing ever!

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Hummels kept missing chances and he could have boosted my fantasy points. Bugger that though, this is brilliant.

A superb 99.. yes 99 minutes of dogged play from the S Koreans to run out 2-0 winners.
So the holders Germany fail to go through to the knock outs in finishing bottom of their group.

Mexico would have been the only team ever to win both their opening games and not qualify. The only others when only the 1 team went through.

Re: World cup thread
I can't wait to catch up on the German press. A lot of Germans have been critical of the team (especially Ozil and Gundogan for appearing to support Erdgogan). They'll really be laying into some of the players + manager now.
Not sure if they'll have any turnip pictures but I live in hope.

Re: World cup thread
About time they suffered.
Crazy given the players they've got. I didn't like Low before but saw a documentary made about Germany in Brazil and he came over very well. He's a good manager but he really seemed out of it with his team changes. Still, it will do some Germans that a bit of humility is required from time to time.

Neymar is incredibly annoying, he's like the manager's son in an under 11's team.

Re: World cup thread
Well after that half of Brazilian dominance there’s not much chance of them going out of the WC unless Serbia buck up considerably. 1-0 ht.
