Bury Micro Pub
Took her indoors to Bury Market today. Whilst she was on a spending spree I found a new Micro Pub right on the edge of the market, on Princess Way, called TheThirsty Fish. Nice place; good ales and other drinks. Excellent staff, will be back soon.UTC.

Re: Bury Micro Pub
You could have a few in the thirsty fish then head off to Annabelles night club if he had not closed down 27 years ago !
Re: Bury Micro Pub
Lived in the town for 45 years and I've never heard of either of those places!rufus lumley wrote:You could have a few in the thirsty fish then head off to Annabelles night club if he had not closed down 27 years ago !
There used to be Atmosphere above the fish market, think it used to be called Topaz. Rebecca's that became Sam's and the roxy / sol viva are the only other ones I can remember. All of them were dodgy sticky carpet kind of places serving rank bad lager.

Rawtenstall is now a cracking night out with all the micro pubs. Blind tiger, hop and northern whisper are excellent

Re: Bury Micro Pub
I think there is a quality jolly boys outing to be had, start at Bury, heading towards the station for a few on there, then onto the east lancs railway towards Rawtenstall and carry on thereSteve1956 wrote:Bury? Where's that,if you want micro pubs Rawtenstall is the place to be

Re: Bury Micro Pub
Rawtenstall has really improved over the last year or so. In addition to the places mentioned aboved there is the Buffer Stops and a new micropub opposite the fire station. White Lion is still a decent pub tooMRG wrote:Rawtenstall is slowly becoming a great night out for food and drink, it really is a place on the up!
Re: Bury Micro Pub

Casked near the railway station is a brilliant little drinking den and the couple who rum it are really nice, strange how this little ex shop is packing them in and just 200 yards away the massive Queens Arms is Boarded up

The landlord at the Lion isn't the greatest though and I know many who avoid it because of him and its expensiveJohnDearyMe wrote:Rawtenstall has really improved over the last year or so. Always amazed that the Queens stayed open for as long as it did. Always seemed to be empty whenever i walked past it

Re: Bury Micro Pub
Is that other pub across from the bus station in Rawtenstall still open, I think it’s called the Crown?
Everyone from Rammy & Bury use to meet in there on matchdays before catching the football special to Burnley.

Re: Bury Micro Pub
As above some really decent pubs and places to eat now. A Turkish restaurant is due to open on Bank Street soon. Northern Whisper is a great bar next to the market. White Bull in Crawshawbooth also a good un!
